Default Front tire blown out on the highway

I was getting off the highway - halway through the exit loop my front left tire exploded - I wasn't going that fast so I slowed down and pulled over - went to change my tires just to find out my aftermarket wheels have different wheel locks ...

waited an hour for my cousin to bring me the correct lock - finally got the blown wheel of started to put on a spare tire and it wouldn't clear the front brake caliper , had to call a damn tow truck - then bought a new tire for my rim.

What puzzles me: all of my tires have 80% thread on them and they are quality falken tires.
Now I got some pos goodyear as my 4th, gona wait till I run down my rears so I can put on some better rubber.

Default Damn...

glad you're ok.

Inflation issue? Debris? Terrorism? Does not sound like a pleasant experience...

How old are the tires? when were they purchased? they still may have some sort of warranty for blowouts
A simple call could save you 100bucks

my thoughts exactly - if I was still on the highway and was doing 80mph I think it would be catastrophic...

Unless someone at nissan messed up and overfilled my tire I have no idea... because I did do the 29.99 nitrogen fill up.

I am also glad I didn't loose control and spin out - I did get some heavy over steer but wasn't going fast enough to hit anything

Had this issue last week, problem was my rear falkens were kinda bald. Happened to my rear right tire. It was pretty loud and three things went through my mind.

1. I ran over something
2. My tires blew out
3. Someone shot me.

I didn't feel anything when it blew up so I exited the freeway then my TPS went off so i just parked in a preschool driveway. I then realize that I did not have my spare tire and had my bro bring it over from my garage. I was able to get all 4 nuts out except the 5th one with the KEY. The wrentch that came with it only fit the original nuts and not the KEY, So i had to call road side assistance and got my spare on it. Next day went to American Tires and got some falkens.

Oldish thread, but if you still have the tire, look on the inside of it and check when it was made. It could've been old.
