Nissan Does Not Recommend Yokohama Tires?
Anyone running Yokohama S.Drive tires on their Z? What are your thoughts on this tire, specfically with respect to performance and noise? Please indicate how many miles you've put on the tires.
Also, the Nissan dealership I service my car at is telling me that Nissan does not recommend the use of Yokohama tires. Apparently Nissan released a bulletin regarding the use of Yokohama tires. I've been unable to find any such release. If anyone is aware of the release, I would appreciate if you could direct me to it.
Thanks.

I'm going to Nissan in a few minutes to pick up my car. I will see if I can get them to identify this supposed release from Nissan regarding Yokohama tires. I was kind of hoping someone new something before I headed down there.

^^^^ I wouldn't go that far. In the last ranking published by Consumer Reports, the PS2 ranked 1st, the Advan Sport ranked 13th. The Advan S4 ranked 3rd in the All Season category.
If you look at the Tirerack ratings, the Advan typically ranks in the bottom half.
They're not bad tires but they certainly aren't great ones.

I just got the S drives put on. They are much quiter than the Bridgestone RE050A (or what ever they're called). I'm not sure about traction, because I drive it like a granny, and I've probably only put 50 on miles. Stock Z's arent that fast and I like to take care of my car. The tires are 275/35/19's back and 245/40/18 front.

Tirerack:
PS2 Dry traction = 9.4 out of 10
Advan Sport Dry traction = 9.0 out of 10
The Advans are more on par with the Bridgestone RE050A

Yokohama AVS ES100's are the absolute worst tires I've ever used. Road noise, bad dry traction, horrible wet traction, bad wear.
The only good thing about these tires is the neat tread design.
Everything else about the ES100's sucks.
