Default Keeping wheels thru winter// TPMS Q

Hi, im planning on keeping my wheels in the garage throughout the winter, and perhaps even longer since i just got new wheels. Do i have to deflate the tires? Also, can I get the TPMS out by deflating the tires? I want to put them on new wheels.

Thanks!

TPMS are in the valves so you have to deflate them. Sorry

you have to take the tire off to remove the tmps. or at least far enough to expose the sensor so you can unscrew the sensor from the wheel.

Oh ok. Is this the ONLY component I have to remove and also install onto the new wheels? I dont have to take the valve stem right?

You'll have to break the bead and that is not an easy task. I doubt you will have to remove the entire tire from the wheel.

Where is the bead located at and how do i break it? Why do you say it's not an easy task? So it's not a simple unscrew and remove?

The bead is where the tire attaches to the wheel. It is very difficult to break this bead by hand. It can be done but I would suggest taking the wheels to a tire store to have them handle this for you.
