Default Tire inflator

I'm pretty **** about keeping my tire pressure up to spec. But these days, half the gas stations don't have air for tires, or their equipment doesn't work.

So I've been looking at possibly buying one of those portable tire inflators, something like this: http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=c&cid=89

Anyone have any experience with these?

If I had a garage, I'd probably have a full-size compressor. But I only have a car port, so I need something small I can take up and down the stairs and keep stored in the apartment when not in use.

TIA for any recommendations.

I use an air tank, but you must have a source to easily recharge it. I have a inflator, but they're loud and take forever.

They are indeed loud and takes forever, but they do work.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Gas stations here either don't have a machine that works or charge to use their air. I just might invest in one of these again.

I bought a compressor similar to this

at Pep Boys for about $20. Very useful for drag racing and autocross.
