LE28n / LE37t Question
I just got a brand new, never been mounted with tires set of volk LE28n (gloss black w/ machined lip). I have a question for fellow LE28n or LE37t owners: did you guys notice a slight 'splotchy' effect in the clearcoat on the machined lips? I'm not sure how to describe it other than at certain angles I can see rainbow-colored splotches all over the surface of the lips. It's not that I really mind it, I'm just wondering if other owners discovered the same thing on their new LE series volks. Again these wheels have never been driven on or even had tires mounted on them, they are brand new. Let me know what you think...

Someone can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong but the I believe its the Alumite finish that the LE's and CE' Ns(LE28n) have on them This is very common because of the coating they use for this wheel. The rest of the RAYS line does not have this type of surfacing. Not sure if it can be buffed out or not but it is hardly noticeable unless your very close. I have seen a set of LE's that were treated w/ a aftermarket wheel cleaner to alleviate the issue and it became a lot worse....very splotchy

My LE's have this discoloration on the lip like you described. They had it when I got them brand new. A couple of my wheels have it others don't. Does not really bother me because as the above poster stated it's not really distracting unless you are extremely close to the wheel.
