Default Need some tire advice

I DD my 350z. Right now the tires I have on the front of the car are completely bald to the point that I now have Kevlar exposed. I was hoping to make it to the winter and switch over to winter tires, but the tires I have on now are not safe to drive on. After this winter, I intend on replacing the stock wheels with something wider. I will keep the OEM wheels with winter tires on them and swap wheels as the seasons dictate.

Given this information would you recommend that I:

A: Buy two front cheap performance tires for the remainder of the warm weather and switch to winter tires when the snow falls. I will not have a use for the performance tires after winter begins because I will be buying wheels of a different size.

B: Buy two front winter tires and use them now even though the weather is still warm. This avoids having two very slightly used front tires left over when I purchase new wheels in the spring.

Follow-up question: Will replacing only the front tires cause my VDC to go schizo? The rears probably have 40-50 percent tread left on them.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

It's too early for snows and I wouldn't recommend running snows with summers anyhow. Buy two cheap or used front tires to get ya through till late November.

P225/45R18 Federal SS595 - 2 installed for $252.10 including tax. sound ok? Only snag is they're a week away. Don't know if you wait that long.

I'd end up putting snow tires on the rears before winter anyway. I'm not usually driving the car hard, would it really be that bad to have snows on the front and summers on the rear just for the two months or so?

I guess if you're just putting around but, you'll def get some rapid tread wear under condition like this. Snows have an extremely soft compound and will burn up in these temps pretty quick. I doubt you'd find a tire shop that will install that sort of mixture but, you never know. Good luck.

Oh and get an ALIGNMENT done either way

Invest money in good tires. Use them now and in the spring.

I would only be able to use them now. Once spring rolls around I will be buying new wheels that would be too wide for the stock size 225/45/18's. I'm thinking I'll just get the snows on the front now and be gentle with the car. Once winter rolls in I'll replace the rears with snow tires as well.

What you could do is get all-season performance for the front. In the winter get dedicate snow tires for the rear.
