How did you talk yourself into spending $3500 for volks and tires?
I've had my 08 z for about a month now. I have a burning desire to buy a set of volk gt-s's. Especially since the price is going up $400 any day now. But $3500 (including tires) is a lot for a college student to be spending on new wheels. However, I do have the money, just don't know if I want to part with that kind of cash right now.
With that being said, what rational did you guys use to drop that kind of money?
Thanks
Edit: Put a deposit on the gt-s's about 5 hours after making this thread

eh, you've got almost that much in your sound system + exhaust (kinda). just do it again on the wheels...you won't be disappointed (until you curb them)

There are no used gt-s's in black on the forum still for sale. If there were to be in the near future, I highly doubt they will be in the exact sizes/offsets I want. So the savings of ~$500 doesn't justify waiting to see if they become available.
I mean, if I buy them and in a year need to sell them for the money... as long as I didn't beat them to hell, I wouldn't lose that much money right?

my accessible bank account ~$15k and the reason I'm debating on buying volks now is because next week I have a certificate of deposit maturing for ~$3950. Plus the cost of volks is going up. You guys would spend the money of the wheels?

because buying rims like volk racing wheels screams "I only want the best for my ____. I'm not a "duct tape" man and don't settle for cheap stuff."
just my conjecture, but your average person that sports high end products (volks) are subconsciously trying to tell hot girls that you're a quality provider at the same time warning other males to watch out...i got money biatch"

Well I don't have Volks on the Z, though I've owned them on my previous cars. One thing that always gets me to pull the trigger on something expensive is seeing it in person on someone's car.
I swear, after every car meet in the last number of years, within two months I was spending 2 grand or more haha!

i did it by not eating out for a few months and drinking the cheapest liquor available on the weekends. 7 dollars 5ths of whiskey will give you mad hangovers yo!!!
honestly though think of it as a initial investment. The wheels value don't decrease that much so if you do end up selling them or want a different set you are not out that much money.

Huh. I think that you cannot justify spending the money if it cannot be
easily replaced. How is your note on your 2008 Z? Pretty hefty I'd assume.
That said, I only started modding once my note was under control. I think
you should think about other options. I got my work meister s1s in 19" for a steal.
I can sell them to you at a steal too, pm me if you're interested. New volks
are not the "only" way to roll. If you are not comfortable with the expense,
you will regret the purchase. The moment you drive on them and beat em up
a little, their value goes down a bit (or more). Think about how that will feel.
A curbed volk actually causes the owner physical pain.
