Best light weight rims for the Z?
What are the best light weight rims for the Z? The lightest wheels I've found are the track v.1 at around 18 lbs. I also like SSR rims but for similar sizes they are slightly heavier than the track v.1 rims. The SSR rims I like run around $650 each.
I want lighter! What are the lightest 18" rims for the Z? I'm all about reducing unsprung weight/rotating mass.
I use to have a 2000 Honda Civic Si and the two best things I ever did to it were adding 16" rota slipstream light weight rims and a light weight flywheel. Best bang for speed IMO.

there is no "best" - that is a relative term, determined by your own sense of style, and your wallet
decide on a budget and get the search menu out - you'll find a ton of info posted

I will get pretty tired of this forum if everyone tells me to just search. A forum should be open communication and help some one find new information relatively quickly relating to their specific needs. Many posts about wheels are 9+ pages long and it is really hard to find the exact weight for rims as many don't seem to care.
Price is not much of an issue. Weight is more important than style. Function over form.
Most wheel manufacturers don't list wheel weights, including Rota, who people seem to like on here. When I go to Discount Tire Co. and ask about wheel weights the look at me silly and end up having to call each manufacturer and sitting on hold just to find out.
Wheel manufacturers love to use language like... "competition light weight", but they fail to give you the numbers.
I'm looking for rims like magnesium alloy or really light forged wheels. Any helpful advice?

WTF, Adam gives you some good advice and you complain about it?
Did you not understand that the term "best" is relative? Can you tell me what the hell the best spoon I can use to eat cereal? What's the best toilet paper to wipe my *** with? What is the best color to get a Z in?

Sorry, I didn't know I had to be that detailed. Should I say LIGHTEST? Does that mean anything? I mis-typed. I tried searching, nothing too good comes up.
Why so ****? Is it that hard to interpret what I meant?

Great first impression I'm getting here... First off it took a whole week for an admin to approve me as a member even after verifying my email and captch image.
First response I get "Go search"
Second response "WTF"
Third Response "GTFO"
I run a very popular forum myself, Buellxb.com, and my members don't act like this. My members can interact immediately. Re-posting the same question that someone already sort of answered in another post if fine. What gives?

You sorta have to expect that when you ask a pretty generic question. Again, there are a ton of forged wheels, not quite as many magnesium ones. When you say you have no budget, what does that mean? $1500 a wheel? $600 a wheel? $350 a wheel? Do you want an aggressive fitment or a conservative one? What tires are you going to be using? Obviously a light weight is a great, but a light wheel with a heavy tire is a bit counterproductive. What size do you want? 17? 18? 19? 20? - weight will oviously be tied to all these particulars, which really is something you have to prioritize for yourself.
Here is a general list - when I refer to inexpensive, more expensive, and expensive, I am speaking relative to my definitions - your definitions may vary.
Lightweight wheels that are inexpensive (cast) - Enkei RPF1, Enkei NT03+M, 5Zigen FN01RC Hot Version. Price range under $1500
Lightweight wheels, mid priced - AME FS01, AME TM02, Advan RZ, Advan RGII, Advan RS, SSR Type C RS, SSR Type F, BBS RE, Gam Light 57 Maximum, Gram Light 57 Optomise. Price range ~$1800 and up depending on size and spec
Lightweight wheels (some forged, some cast), more expensive than category 2 - Volk TE37, Volk CE28, Volk RE30, Advan F7, BBS RS-GT, BBS RG-R, NISMO LMGT-4, Enkei RPF1 RC, Enkei RP03 RC, INGS TS06, Prodrive GC010, Prodrive GC06, CCW (various). Price range ~$2500 and up depending on size/spec
Lighweight wheels (forged) - expensive - Volk TE37 Magnesium, BBS Forged Magnesium, BBS Forged RE, Kinesis (various), Fikse (various). Price range ~$4000 and up depending on size and spec

I didn't say I have a better forum. It is totally different, for Buell Motorcycles. Buell makes up about 5% of Harley Davidson sales so the market is much smaller than the Z. I only have roughly 2400 members.
I really like the ROTA's. I still have not seen specs for any of the rota wheels. They don't post weights on RotaWheels.com.
I just checked the Enkei's and they seem to be about 18.6 lbs each. Is that as light as they get for the Z? The track v.1 are still lighter.
