Default Black/Rainbow Finish?

Hey guys,

I've been away for awhile since I sold my Z but a guy I work with has one. I was telling him about this badass wheel I saw awhile ago and I thought it was a Volk GT-S but it could be an SF-Challenge. Either way, I remember the wheel being mostly black, possible with a hint of a rainbow finish on it. It looked like it was a picture taken at SEMA or some kind of show and it was a close-up of the wheel. It might have even been on, in or next to its box. This was back in 2006 sometime when they were first being introduced (maybe just the finish was being introduced) and that's all I remember now.

Either way, I tried searching and couldn't find what I was looking for. I was hoping some of you wheel experts might be able to give me some more information.

Thanks,

Chris

Gram lights 57 Pro Titan (I think that's what it's called) is a 7-spoke wheel with that rainbow looking finish on the lip, possibly the spokes too but I can't remember. There was a guy selling a set in the marketplace within the past month.

seen those...pretty sure it was a GT-S. maybe just the lip had the treatment. remember, this was roughly 2-2.5 years ago.

If it was 5-spokes it was prob the Gram Lighs 57 Pro. If it had 6-spokes it's the 57 Maximum Pro. If it had 7-spokes it was the 57S Pro.

Gram Lights you mentioned:

Rainbow finish: Check

Mostly Black: No

Could possibly be this? Or something similar... Or even a custom Gram Lights with a powdercoated black centre with titanium finish?

Konig has a couple wheels out with black spokes and rainbow polished lip... I saw them on Discounttiresdirect.com. Maybe those are what you saw?

If you buy the Ti5 or Konig ones, promptly hang yourself afterwards.

They are heavy and poorly sized for the Z iirc.

The Ti5s might come in an acceptable size/offset, but the rainbow finish looks worse than the gramlights and I think the spoke design is really ugly personally.
