Axis Shine Mod Idea
So I bought my superblack Z and immediately got the 20" Axis Shine wheels.... I just loved and still love the look, but more and more I'm falling for the time attack look and the theme of my car is all black with red accents. I'm toying around with a few ideas like buying the 18" Time attack Rotas or trying some crazy **** and painting the Shine's a time attack theme. MY question is if I were to do this I'm trying to decide how to paint the wheel and if I am capable of doing something like this or will I just destroy my wheels. I've read up a couple of forums of people painting their own wheels and they do come out pretty good, but can this stand up to everyday wear and tear and washing assuming you don't use paint shot out of a gun but you do use the best aerosol supplies available? I'm thinking of painting the entire wheel including the lip flat black, applying the time attack stripe, and then just to be different gloss the portion of the wheel that is gunmetal stock for a gloss/matte contrast. I'd then finish up by painting the word "Axis" gloss red and having red lugs. What do you think? Buy some smaller wheels, or keep the 20"s (which look great with my car lowered and handle great) and attempt this radical paint scheme. My final option is to not attempt to **** up my wheels and pay for this to be done professionally... anybody know how much this usually costs? What do you all think? Any ideas or modifications you'd make to this scheme? Here's a pic of my car with a half *** photoshop attempt at this on my front wheel and the stock wheel on the back. Peace!!

time attack is about 10 years out from being "radical". TA wheel paintjobs are played out. Even if you are completely sold on that style, I don't think the design of the Axis Shines would lend themselves well to that. Personally I would just leave them silver, or just get a different wheel.
If you go through with painting them, I would hope that you would have them done professionally.
