Default New Pics 18" ADVAN RS & ZEAL Coilovers

I put on my rear 18" X 10" ADVAN RS wheels today. They just came in from Japan. I am running a 305/35/18 Proxes R888 tire in the rear, and the 35 offset is perfect. There is no rubbing on the inside spring perch of my new Zeals, or the quarter panel lip which is rolled flat. I did have rubbing on the spring perch when I installed the tire originally. The ZEALS come with a 7" long spring. I bought a 6" long spring and it moved the perch up 1" which was enough to clear the tire.

On the front I have a 18" X 9" +22 with a 275/35/18 tire. No rubbing up there either, but it is very very close. I might switch to the 9" +29 wheel up front.

The car is lowered about 2". Front camber is -3 and the rear is -2.5. After running the car at Sebring a few weeks back I am going to take out some camber and run -2.0. These tires stick like crazy when they are up to temp.

The ZEAL Superfunction "A's" were well dampened and a very big improvment over my D2 shocks (no suprise there). It will take some time for me to set the car up and I can give a better review of the ZEAL's.

New stance looks fantastic. Other than the wing, the rest of the car does, as well. Why just 1 blue lugnut on each wheel?

Thanks.... Before I bought my black set of Rays lugnuts I had a blue set. I go to the track alot and take my wheels on and off constantly so I did away with the lock by putting on one of the blue lugnuts I have.

No wing eh?

I can take that pic for you tomorrow. The issue with the oil is that the cranckcase is pressurizing and blowing oil out the drivers side valve cover breather and being sucked into the intake behind the air filter. A few people are working on a fix possibly a vacuum pump to keep the crancase under vacuum at all times.

I like those wheels. I second the request for a shot down the side of the car if you can, I'd like to see how close to the fender the 275 is on the +22 front. I would think the +29 fronts would be better for your track endeavors by providing more room for a 275 tire and what I think is a near-perfect scrub radius. Looks good, although I can't imagine being in CO with the car slammed so low. I need all the travel I can get on the bombed-out mountain roads here; there must be nice roads in Vero Beach!

Jet, I realize you're a trackhead, but what happened to the 19s?

Awesome you're keeping true to ADVANs.

Thanks for the compliments.....

I sold the 19" ADVANS about 8 weeks ago. I love ADVANS and probably wouldn't use any other wheel unless I decide to go with custom sizes which I might do some time in the future.

I'll get some pics for you tomorrow Will.

The rears are OEM Brembo calipers powdercoated red with the Stoptech 2 piece Aero Rotors with Stoptech braided brake lines and HAWK DTC-60 pads.
