Question new rims

Guys I have an 08 350z and would like new rims. However, I want the staggered look (i think that's how is called) where the back wheels and tires are really fat and then stick out and then the ones in the front are normal giving the car that aggressive look. My friend told me to put 19's in the back and 18's in the front and to go really wide on the back like 10.5. But I have another friend that says that will mess up the car steering wise or something. Can anybody tell me the exact size that that I need to buy the rims (possibly with pictures) to give it the best look but not over exagerate to where it will mess up the car. I don't know how wide or whatever im kinda lost...yes im a noob. Thanks in advanced and I would appreciate any suggestions as to what rims to get too. Thank you.

1 popular size to get you started:
19 x 9.5 +22
19 x 10.5 +22

search google for a wheel offset calculator and browse this site for pictures of wheels. You'll learn what you want pretty quick with a little work.

aside from actual width size, look on the descriptions of the wheels for "lip size"....4" seems to be the minimum to get that really aggressive look....5" is straight ballin!!!

+22 is your offset.

Do NOT buy wheels without knowing what the offsets are.

Search the Wheel&Tire forum for more information on this topic.

Check out the for sale forums and your local forum as well. This is important, DO NOT BUY CRAPPY CHEAP WHEELS. You car already comes with nice wheels. Do not buy some POS knock offs. Most people here will tell you Volk or Work wheels are the way to go. Beware that there are cheap immitation wheels called Rota, they take Volk and other high quality wheels, steal their design and make cheap knock offs. Honestly, search the "wheels" subforum for good ideas and looks for your car. Good luck and congrats on your new Z.

My friend i have a 1986 mazda b2000 pickup truck for those kinds of drives! I have a friend over in East Village so there's no way im driving the Z through that!!!

and i usually take the truck to unfamiliar places the 1st time to scope out the roads b4 the Z does any traveling to that destination so i know if the rims are safe.

Yeah man i hear you.. I wish i could scope out my path first lol.. Parents live in Jersey so unfortunalty i have to visit them once in a while. I lost thousands on those 2 sets of wheels and im fed up with how bad these roads are. After i got my Z I swore to myself i would never again change out wheels again.6 months later i did .The Z unfortunatly just crys out for bigger wheels its a must

If you're on a budget, and don't want to spend 3000+ on wheels, check out the Enkei RPF1s in 19s.

I think Gruppe-S has them for 1600 shipped without tires or something.

19x9.5/10.5 +22

As far as tires, you should run 255/35/19 up front and 275/35/19 in the back. If you want an even more aggresive stance, roll/cut your fenders and get a nice drop + negative camber and run some 285/295 out back.
