So im in the process of getting a set of rims. My current problems i have is deciding whether with rims with a nice lip or forged. I know we have alot of volk ***** here who only go by them..bu there are alot of great looking rims..bbs lm, advan rac version 2..some of the racing harts rh evo editions..so what do you guys feel is a better feel for the car??the way i see it..alot of us came from civic or integras where we couldnt rock lips or staggered rims..just seeing what u all think

So what you are essentially saying is OEM rims are pretty much irrelevant. I think you need to be a little more clear on what you want in order to get your question answered correctly.
And if you really are meaning in what you say to the question you posted then you were answered in the second post. Buying a forged rim and a cast rim will probably yield you the same lip size. I would say its all up to the buyer if he wants polished, painted, or chromed. There are 1 piece, 2 piece, and 3 piece forged rims. Most rims may cut the costs by only forging the barrel of the rim and casting the inner on the 2 and 3 piece rims.

haha..well let me clarify..i love all looks.i saw the thread of modified oem wheels and saw alot of nice designs. I love big fat lips as well.to me they all look good. Right now i have a 4 inch rear lip but was thinking of doing something different. what im afraid of doing is going to lets say te37 and missing a lip..just wanted some feed back...not to give anybody a headache..lol..a bunch of funny motherf**ckas!!!..haha..always fun and games here on my350z.com
Lips look best. Most wheels tend to have a cast center but forged barrel. You do not want a full cast wheel. Personally, I am saving up to get the Volk GTS after winter is over.
no they don't - nothing really has changed, it's just that there are more people
they ask the questions...and ask, and ask, and ask 8 other different ways, and then.....tend to do nothing
to the OP -and I mean this in all sincerity and am not mocking you at all, just giving some friendly advise: really when it comes down to it, it's your car, your money, your choice. Get what matches your budget/style. Otherwise, it's a bit like asking people what you should have for dinner tonight.....know what I mean?
As long as you stick to a quality brand, you'll be just fine as far as longevity, resale value, etc. he car has now been out for 5 + years. Any combo of wheel, tire, color, etc has probably been done by this point and numerous pictures posted on a variety of Z's with different ranges of lowering, etc. If it hasn''t, a little imagination goes a long way. Find what you like, try to look up the specs in the respective post, or ask the person whos car it is and/or a vendor, and I'm sure you can find exactly what you're looking for
