Default [Pic Req] More of this BY w/ BBS RE 18x9.5 F+R

I posted this thread last night, I could have sworn, but I think it may have been deleted.

Anyway, I am looking for more pics / tire sizing / offsets on this particular Brickyard.

I can't quite make out the decal on the front of the car, but I'm thinking it may be a shop car?

Thanks for any help

18x8.5, 18x9.5 +24 front/rear is what BBS suggest....I'd bet that is what they are

tire combo? More than likely the std 245/40, 275/40 judging by the sidewalls

I am almost positive they are 18x9.5 F+R because the 9.5 inch diameter RE's have a deeper circular depression in the face of the rim where the lugs are.

Definitely thinking those are +24s though like you said.

I think the reason I want pics is just because I've only seen Z's with the 8.5/9.5 setup and not the 9.5 all around like I want.

def not 19's - 19's only come in +43 and +42 offset and have totally flat spokes in those offsets

Changed it. Got carried away with the 9's.

gotcha...could be the same size all around, very hard to tell from that angle

love the wheels though (big BBS fan) - had them on my Audi Avant for several years, in 4 seasons, without any issues

I don't care if people make fun of me for liking wagons.

Thanks for the pics, Adam.

I know you sell them, and I'll be contacting you when I'm ready.

I need to finish school and start working again before I buy them. I just wrapped up deciding on the tire/wheel specs I'm looking for, so I saved myself the trouble of rushing to decide on sizing right before I buy.

I'm going to do 18x9.5 all around (+24 obviously) w/ 265/35 F, and 275/40 R. (<-- aiming for no fender rolling)

I want my car to really look "more RWD", so a little bit of a raked look is what I am going for, but definitely nothing too crazy. I'd like to run a set of 5mm spacers out back to get the offset closer to +20, since I'm a fan of that look.

I was thinking about doing 5mm spacers in the front, as well, but I am thinking I should see what it looks like with the 265s mounted on the 9.5 +24 before making that decisions. No need to push them out 5mm from the get-go only to see that the front wheels/tires now look further pushed out from the fenders than the rears, which is, of course, an awkward look.

What's your take?

would ya look at that.... 265/35's on 18x9.5 +24 REs....no need to guess what the front will look like anymore.

^^ still 9.5 and +24's on the second set of pics, right?

What do you think....flush enough in the front, but just 5mm space the rears?

going to come down to your tire choice...what were you thinking of? how low is the car, and what camber specs?

keep in mind those second pics are A048 which run HUGE - hell we run 265s sometimes on 10 inch wheels and they still aren't stretched. Def. not your "std" fitment with those, they run much bigger than most any other tire I can think of

if it were me? Roll the fenders...its not hard. When you're ready lmk, I'll let you borrow my machine

From there, 10mm spacers front, 15mm out back, 265/35 front, 285/35 rear would make it look awesome. Or if you want a bit more conservative, 5mm front, 10mm rear spacers, same tire sizes. Not a ton of tire options but would look sweet

I'm N/A (not built either, like some of us *cough*), so I didn't want to make the thing run like a slug with monstrous rubber, so I just set a cutoff at 275 for the rear. The reason I wanted to go conservative with the offsets by running a maximum 5mm spacer in the rear was so I did not have to roll the fenders. I know it's not hard, but if with 275s the majority don't have to, and it's a healthier setup for N/A, then why play my cards with having to roll?

In reference to tires, I'm planning to go with Nitto Invos.

I run camber within factory specs...I don't remember exactly. I forgot what I was told a safe (in terms of reasonable tire wear) maximum negative camber was, but from what I have read, if I go with the 275/40 rear, it is pretty standard, and I can just dial in some more negative camber if it rubs any.

Lastly, I'm lowered on Hotchkis.

If you want to make a tire recommendation, please do.

I am looking for something that wears pretty well, that will see mostly street and maybe a little track, and will have to get through the rain safely. I don't plan on driving in the rain much, but if I do, I don't need hydroplane-age.

I have Kumho Ecsta SPTs right now, and I really do like them, but they look too much like an all-season in my opinion. My car's mostly a fair weather driver, so I think I can get away with a more aggressive tire.

depends on the budget

I'm a big fan of PS2 and RE050A on these cars.

You had/have the RE050As on your VS-XXs, correct?

My budget is to be determined. It depends if I get this job or not. Even if I have money to blow, I'd say I won't go too far above middle of the road in terms of price. I was even considering Kumho MXs because of the value and good reviews I have read. Why spend more if I don't have to? If I was pushing the limits of these tires regularly, that would be a different story.

I was looking at more expensive wheels before focusing attention on the BBSs, but I figured they were the best choice in terms of style and costs.

I can't believe I just said BBSs were a good choice b/c of cost....

What I mean is that if I damage the REs it will be less expensive to replace than the Volk GT-Ss, VS-XXs or HREs I was considering.

Thoughts on post #14? Idk if you missed it hiding up there. lol

yep I have RE050A - excellent street tire on the Z, great in the wet or dry - just a great all around tire for this car IMHO

for a slightly less beefy setup, 255 front, 275 rear would also look great
