Question ? 'bout hub centricity

is the z hub centric or bolt centric in design? i ask because i got my rims in and would love to put them on to photo and post here only to find that the plastic hubcentric internal wheel spacers leave about a 3 mm gap over the Z's hub. now i have been told that the tapering in the bolt design allows for bolt centricity, therefore not requiring a hubcentric setup. is this true? should i just go ahead and bolt my rims on?

thanks in advance

The OEM wheels are hub centric.... that is, they rely on the hub to make sure the wheel is centered.

Some wheels are bolt centric... they rely on the lug bolts to center them. It really depends on the wheels you buy (not the car) if they are hub centric or bolt centric.

Since the wheels came with a plastic hub centering ring, I would suspect that they are hub centric, not bolt centric.

If all you want to do is take pictures, there's no reason not to bolt them on with no centering ring... just don't go for a long drive!

Hope that helps.

the bolts taper though, and the ring is plastic

i think the ring is not intented for hub centricity. why would they taper the bolts and the bolt openings on the wheels?

the hub doenst take the load, the bolts do, the hub ensures its centered.

I would go get the proper ring before driving on the rims.

your call tho. its like 10PM here tho... Id go out tomarrow and get the proper rings from the shop and take pics during the day...
