So lets say money isn't a problem....can a vendor or someone in the know tell me how much it would cost to get the same spec'd (width/diameter/offset) as the LM-R's on the Amuse Superleggera?

I know Amuse used adapters to make their wheels work w/ our 5X114.3 dimensions so this could be an option too. I'm guessing that would work something like a hubcentric spacer where you have built in studs...bolt the spacer using stock studs and wah lah.

This is a for serious post btw.

I know some other BBS wheels are made in our sizes/bolt dimensions but I want LM-R's. No joke.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And like I said...they need to be same specs as the Superleggera kit so figure in the 15mm wider. Having to run camber is no issue either.


ETA: Got the sizes....but would probably stick w/ 19's if I could, just need a how to on getting them to work or getting them ordered....

Tire size (Front): 255/30R20 (BBS LM Ericsson-R F9J-20 +8)

You want to put 20" tires on 19" wheels? that's going to be your first problem LOL

Anyways...I think I found the spacer/adapters for 5X114.3 to 5X130 which would work but push them out 25mm (H&R sells them). I've ran spacers before w/ no problems but if I ran a 25mm spacer I would collectively need fronts in 19X9 w/ a +33 offset or so and 19X10 rears with a +43 correct? (To basically get the same effects as running the correct offset wheels?)

ETA (running spacers may help however w/ the BBS's due to my BBK in front....)

 

if you are running 19x9, +33 with 25mm = 8mm, you'd prob need a roll.. or you'd come really close at the very least. Would look nice though..

with the 19x10, i'd run a +33 with the 25mm space for +8mm too, although +43 offset would work as well. (But with +43rears, i'd run +43 in front too or run a 15mm spacer up front with your +33 idea so the front and rear match) Either way, i'd keep the offsets of the front and rears similar and have the rear wheel width wider.

Either way, if you get LM-R's on your ride you are the mack.

Edit: Please don't get the +43 offset ones. Now I think about it, that is weak for a Z, and lip wouldn't be maximized.. definitely go as low as they offer.

my apologies....long day...lots of OT and late.

Lips are cut flush....and the weak offsets would be countered by the 25mm wheel adapter/bolt pattern changers and also adding 15mm of room to each fender....in other words like the Amuse Superleggera adds 15mm extra to the fenders.

Damn...this is too much math lol.


ETA: They also offer 19X11 in +63 which would give me +35 after the spacer added which would be tucked a wee bit w/ the 15mm wider fenders in the rear which in turn would allow me to run some beefier tires in the rear.....lol fun times ahead I predict. Now someone by my '69 Mustang so this can happen sooner than later.

try to find somebody that can get their hands on bbs's from japan. offer widths and offsets that are 350z friendly. maybe memoryfab?

 

+8 on a 19" inch wheel with a 255/30 will not be a problem .

 

Have you exhausted all your options regarding the contact of BBS reps?

Amuse probably went with adapters because of deadline issues in their build? Maybe BBS will have more 5 by 114 options considering that the R35 GTR is on the market. On a shallow wheel like the LM-R's you might want to get as much lip as possible.

A friend of mines has BBS LM's and when you compare them to another set with a more aggressive offset, that extra 0.5-1 inch of machined lip makes a world of difference.

 

We are a BBS dealer and there is no dialogue for BBS to produce different fitments as of right now. In my opinion, it is really not worth to spend close to a 10K price tag on wheels that aren't the proper fitment for the application but whatever floats your boat.

This might be a dumb dumb question but but instead of using adapters couldn't you replace the wheel hub (or whatever part has the OEM studs sticking out of it) with one that has the bolt patter that you need? Obviously you'd really need to commit to running only wheels with that pattern, but at least then you don't have to put a spacer in there. Something about spacers on high speed rotating equipment gives me the *******.

 

With enough money, anything is possible.

Andy, thanks for the headsup. I agree, it may not be worth it to some, but it's worth it to me. So I'm gonna try to exercise all my options right now.

I've thought about changing the hub, but then I'd have to change brake rotors, and god knows what else to make it work. Like Andy said, with enough money, anything is possible lol.

I'd love to throw the 19X11's in the rear but I've only been able to find a +63 offset....weak even when adding the spacers. I mean sure it'd work w/ a 305 on the rear stock quarters but adding that 15mm, I don't think I could pull it off unless adding something even larger.

I'm bound and determined to figure this out.....some guys drop 30K on HP/TQ, I'm dropping on wheels/kit/interior and then worry about motor mods. I've already had a go fast car for 15 years :P.

I've thought about what other wheels would really set the Superleggera kit off but since their isn't really any pics besides the terrible offset TE37's on the all white kit and the BBS LM-R's, it's tough to get a visual.

I two other member's are gonna be set up w/ this kit and I don't believe they're getting the LM-R's so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

 

Id love to see a set of LM's on a Z!
