Black OEM wheels look like OEM wheels that are black.

Powdercoating stock wheels is expensive, first the price of pulling your tires off, then the cost of the powdercoating, next the cost of having you tires reinstalled, THEN THE COST OF REPLACING YOUR WHEELS AS THE CRACK. Search a little, powdercoated stockers don't last very long.

that's not true at all. I'm certain that it is going to apply to a $25 powdercoating job, though.

There has been a few sets that have cracked after powdercoating. I know the 2 sets here in Vegas were not a $25 job.

umm if your for sure going to go FI your probably gonna want more tire on the floor in the future so save your money make a priorities list on your car.But I would suggest a much stickier R compound tire for FI. If FI is your top priority then don't waste money on other stuff (but stuff you will probably buy in the future) and focus on the turbo.

Unless it's a really good friend of yours doing the work, asking 25 as a token gesture, I simply wouldn't do it in your place.
Let alone the time it takes to do it (and I wouldn't trust anybody charging less than 50-80 bucks an hour with my car, but that's me), just materials will set whoever does it back by more than 25 bucks.

You get what you pay for, and 25$ is less than a 10th of what a proper job would cost you, and you still have stock with their diminutive width.

If you plan on dumping 6 grands in turbo and build you'll most likely need new wheels anyway, save yourself the pain and rice of a 25$ job on a 40 grands car and wait until you can do better.

that's fine and I have no way of refuting that, but making a blanket statement that "powdercoated stockers don't last very long" is a bunch of bull. I have had two sets of wheels powdercoated, and know plenty of people that have had it done as well with no problems at all. Hell, there are 4 Scooby guys that I can think of off the top of my head that track their cars at just about every local event with powdercoated forged wheels...that is plenty of abuse, and absolutely no problems.

There is always going to be sets with issues, and there are certainly guys out there getting crap powdercoat jobs. But provided that the process was done correctly, there is no gauranteed inherent danger in having wheels powdercoated.

ramkat, I hate Time Attack style but nice work on the GTs. Here's a picture of my GTs that I had done:
