I doubt they had to cut anything. My experience with Rays wheel
lugs is that they're composed of very soft material. You can literally
tap an undersized chuck over the wheel lock (with a hammer) and
simply remove the lock once you've gotten the chuck over the lock.

This is how we removed my locks once my keyed chuck was destroyed
the FIRST time I tried to remove my rear wheels for a tire replacement.

I am sorry for your loss. These thieves will surely meet an untimely and
violent end to their being.

That sucks, at least they were nice enough not to let it hit the ground doing more damage.

Looks like an open bay in your complex, how the hell did someone not see that happening??

Lol @ people thinking just because you have a wheel lock it is impossible to steal. It's just like an alarm, it's there to scare them off/take them longer to actually steal it. They have tools for everything. If they want it, they'll get it, if they can't get it, they'll destroy it.

That is not exclusive to Rays lugs, that's the case with ANY lugs.

or they just bought a set of wheel locks and have the key...

imo wheel locks are completely useless cause most of them are the same, whats stopping a theif from buying a set and using the key? i know they're theives and all and don't like to buy stuff, but to them this is an "investment"

there are very few wheel locks out there with an actual unique key to it, and even then, there are still ways to get passed it

edit:
here's an intresting one i found, but i have no idea where you would get them

Rays lugs come in 3 key dispositions, center/right/left.

They would have needed to inspect the lock closely to ascertain which
disposition his were.

**** -- You're wrong. My kics lug locks are rounded. They have a multi-
notch/circular design that I believe could not be over-chucked.

your locks could be removed easily without a key.

I lost the key to my wheel locks about 4 years ago... I needed them removed but didn't have an air chisel... I took a slightly larger-than diameter 6pt socket, beat it over the lock and was able to torque it off.

I lost a socket, but saved myself some time and frustration.

The best solution is to have 5 different locks on each wheel... torqued slightly too much, but not so much it f'ks up the stud. GL cranking those off by hand.

Another option is there are manufacturers who make 5 point/side lugs (instead of the common hex) out there.

But all of these ideas are only inconveniences to wheel thieves. If they want the rims and they know what they're doing (or at least have a clue), they're going to get the rims off the car.

Gosh people are so stupid. Hmm..maybe they didnt steal anything because there was someone that saw/watching them so they had to stop and run away? or maybe they just knew who you were and didnt like you. So many noobs in here thinking its impossible to steal something once you have a "lock/alarm". Welcome to the import scene noobs.

As a former GT-M owner I feel for ya, The wheels are actuallty pretty rare so there is a chance of recovery....What tires did you have on them? any specific marks people can look for?
