Default Good SPACERS?

i have the 08 z, no mods at all, stock height. I was wondering what kind of spacers are good and reliable? What differentiates one brand of spacers from another? I was thinking of doing 25mm front and 30mm rear.

Also, another noob question, would i be able to put the spacers on myself with the tool kit given in our cars? and do I need to change the lug nuts? thanks.

Ichiba/HR/Porject Kics, 25mm all around looks clean. click search to see pictures, there's a big thread full of pics with people on stock wheels w/ spacers.

I prefer spacers with build in studs, rather then long stud replacement versions.

Built in stud spacers bolt on to your wheel hub using the supplied set of lugs, then you put the wheel on the spacer using your original lugs.

long stud replacement versions require you to rubber mallet out your studs out of the wheel hub, replace them using the supplied longer studs with the spacers, put the spacers on then the wheel on and use your stock lugs.

you'll hear peferences towards both. good luck.

yes you could make due with the kit supplied with your car but it is ideal to have a torque wrench, you want to make sure these things are torqued to spec. a lot of major tire places won't touch wheel spacers (discounttire etc), just as a heads up.

I would go with Ichiba or Kics. Yes you can install the spacers with the tool given with your car. No need to change lug nuts. Also you should try to get a torque wrench so you can accurately torque the bolts on your spacers.

Try this thread. These guys are awesome and have great prices and quick shipping. I recently bought some Ichiba spacers and they are great.

Good luck!

Parts Shop Max. The spacers they sell are hub-centric for Nissans (fit my Z perfectly). Prices are around $80-100 per PAIR of 25mm/30mm

You need a breaker bar, sockets, a torque wrench, and jack stands. A jack would be useful as well, but not necessary. These items will cost you more than it would cost to bring it to a shop and have them "install" the items, so if is the only time you think you'd make a change, just bring it somewhere.

Eibach makes a good set of hubcentric spacers as well. They'll run ~$90 for a pair. They are the kind with the studs built in.

Be sure to check the back of your wheels to see if they have a dimple to accommodate the lugs that are used to secure the spacers to the rotor.

H&R/Eibach/KICS/Ichiba. Don't get the Ebay ones.
