Default Can stock tires be plugged and patched?

I thought I heard somewhere that Z rated tires cannot be plugged. Is this true?

I have a nail and would hate to have to pay $250 for a new tire. I only have 7k miles on myZ

Thanks

you can patch any tire, no matter what the speed rating... what happens is that the tire will no longer have it's speed rating once it's been plugged and patched.

As long as the hole is in the tread and not the sidewall you should be OK. I don't know about 100+ on a plugged tire though.

It may not be the smartest thing, but I had about 3 plugs in each of my rear tires when I was at the drag strip with no problems. I also drove the car for another year like that (even went to the drag strip that way more).
