Default Staggered 8 Front 8.5 Rear HELP!!

I am considering purchasing aftermarket wheels but when i purchased my 350 the dealership offered a "tires for life" deal and was wondering where could i find aftermarket wheels that fit the stock 225/45/18 fronts and 245/45/18 rears, or is it just nearly impossible to find a set of staggered wheels .5 inch larger on the rears? in this economy it seems like i should try to save some money any way i can. thanks

Your choices will be limited - but you can find them. You can still use the stock tire sizes on 8.5's and maybe a 9 in the rear. The 225 up front is gonna' be the problem.

oh okay, just kind of curious why would the 225s be an issue? i apoligize if my questions seem obvious to some but ive never went the after market wheels route even on my previous car. ive been searching many websites and yeah i understand my choices are limited. if anyone has a website or a shop around so cal near downtown, oc, or inland empire maybe you could help me out with some helpful information. thanks!!

those wheel width's seem pretty thin for the z. I would go width at least 9inch in front and 10inch in the rear.

If your gonna do that your gonna have to run real low offsets on your wheels for them to look good because I bet if you put wheel spacers on the dealerships "tires for life" deal is off

just curious, how would running wheel spacers affect my situation, once again i apologize if i come off as knowing nothing about wheels at all

oh and one more question, can i run 8.5s all around, i know the 245 rears should be compatible but would the fitting the 225s on 8.5s be kind of risky? i think there was a seller posting those specs on g35driver with 225-45-18 front and 245-45-18 rear with +15 offset

I'm confused too... why would wheel spacers effect his tire deal? Spacers wont change his tire size, just push the wheels out further.

I say don't even bother buying aftermarket wheels if you're looking for something 8 and 8.5" wheels. Stick with stocks unless you're willing to go wider

calin - yeah i understand what you mean but im really looking forward to get a new set of wheels and am going to stick with 18s so just kind of threw that idea out there to possibly save some money, and if i become desperate i just might forget the whole tire deal with the dealership..

What exactly are the details of this deal? Do they have to be those tires specifically? Ask him what if you had a GT Z, cause at least those are a little bigger and give you more options.

yeah ill give the dealership a call in a bit and get a little more details on if they can offer something of that nature, hopefully they can possibly let me cover a small difference to in relation to larger tires. i just remember that "deal" applied to all the cars and after market wheels purchased through the dealership, maybe i shouldve considered that more but im sure they overprice everything after market, 3k for no name 19s didnt really catch my interest

Dude yeah if it applies to all cars purchased through them, ask which wheels specifically do they cover. Cause if you had a Track/Grand Touring model now we're talking 245/40/18 fronts and 265/35/19 rears. Aren't dealerships able to order the Nismo LMGT4 wheels? That'd give you a lot of options for sure, would be overpriced as hell coming from them though.

Most people shop for tires that fit wheels. But you could shop for wheels to fit tires. Sure.

Sniff. Sniff. Tires for life sounds like bull poop. You get 4 crummy tires every 50,000 miles? If you agree to what? Recommended maintenance?

No free lunch for you.

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator

Plug in the #'s and it'll show your boundaries of the tire in comparison to widths... and how much it might affect your speedometer, positively or negatively.

thanks jubes

and i spoke to the dealership, they said there would be a difference to pay but its not going to be a dramatic cost. yeah i understand typically people get wheels then tires, but it just seems like its worth a shot to possibly save a little bit of money doing it the other way. if it doesnt really work out then i guess ill be going about it what most people would consider the "normal" way

Buy your wheels at tirerack.com, because they sell conservative offsets that fit stock sized tires.
