Default rear wheel in front

ok so my question is can i use a rear wheel on the front of the z? i know the rear wheel is 17x 8.0 vs the fronts 7.5. and the offset is also different. i have 3 rears and 1 front. i will try to match the "new front" tire to the same tire size on the real front wheel.


will this be fine? or will i have some issues?

I'm sure there's a really entertaining story in there how you ended up with 3 rears. Not sure if there's an issue with rear wheels fitting on the fronts so long as the tire size is correct.

Of course I'd never mix two different wheel widths on the same axle. Even with the same size tire, the tire profile will be different. Just like a tire would be when stretched on too wide of a rim versus a correctly sized rim. In the end, it would pull on the wide side.

Any chance of scrapping the whole idea and trying to find someone selling 4 correctly sized 18" stockies?

You can't. There's a bolt on the front wheel hub to prevent you from doing this. If you remove the bolt, the fabric of space/time will collapse and all mankind will devolve into mindless apes.

forum humor, never ceases to amaze me. carry on.

eh, maybe ill keep looking. you find the fronts on ebay, for ~150

but since i had the rear one i figured id ask. tho, it does need to fixed a bit, guess ill go for the ebay one.

anyone need a slightly bent rear wheel? lol

On a serious note... Just post a WTB ad in the SoCal section. Someone is bound to have a spare 17" stocker laying around. I've bought 2 sets (4 wheels and tires each set) of base 17's for winter and drift wheels for ~$150 with tires each set.
