Default questions about +37 & +43 offsets

I'm going to check out some 18" volks tonight with the following offsets:
18x8 (+37)
18x10 (+43)

The seller did mention +20 & +15mm spacers were used but my questions is would these wheels work without spacers and what are the negatives in regards to using spacers? thanks in advance

The wheels would be terribly sunken in without spacers. Quite honestly, I think that 18x8 wheel is too small even with a spacer.

25mm spacers front and rear would sort that out. 8" isn't too narrow as 8.5" is pretty standard for the front wheel. A 245 will fit an 8 but it will be puffy.

Thx. Is there any real drawbacks with using spacers?

Use an offset calculator and compare the current wheels with the new wheels. With a tape, check if you clear the strut housing, brake caliper and fender.

Thx.. The first sugestion i will do for sure but the only way i'll be able to mout and test clearance is to bring my Z which i wasn't planing on since i was planning on driving my DD to pickup the wheels since they most certainly won't fit in the Z.. I've seen Pix of of the wheels on a Z and they look good but hmmm not sure if i'm digging spacers.. Now i'm totally not sure if i want to mess with the wheels at all just for the sake of a good deal.

yeah there is some drawbacks with spacers...I run them and I don't have a problem there is a little bit of maintenence involved. you must take the wheels and retorque the spacer lugs just like you would regular lug nuts. Other than that some people will argue that they are not as safe if you track the car but with those offsets you are goin to have to run spacers no doubt. Unless you are just getting and amazing deal I wouldn't buy them for a Z but I would pick them up and try to make a little profit

Those might be good for an S2000 or NSX, but downright terrible fitment for a Z. I would keep looking. You're buying nice expensive wheels, why sacrifice and have to put spacers on IMO?

Those are Z32 specs, but can work nicely on a 350 as well. Everyone is saying they will look terribly sunken in, but they'd be no worse than stock wheels. Many people run spacers - there's little concern there. I'd say if the price is absolutely right and you love the wheels, go for it. You can easily run the standard 245FR/275RR. 245 is the proper size for an 8" wheel. In general, it will not look puffy as one indicated.

Thanks for the input.... I do in fact like the wheels but don't love them. Maybe someone else will jump on them. They are still for sale in the classifieds section. Volk GTN's (rare) seller seems like a good guy!

I went through 3 pages in wheel/tire classifieds. Can you post the link? Tx.
