Default 2006 painted wheels

since i love those wheels (i wish they were 19"), and i'm low on cash to buy aftermarket wheels, i thought painting them might be an option i'd consider..

i borrowed this picture from here (dunno who's the owner and hope he doesn't mind), and i've done some chopping.

Original:

vote if you think i should consider doing it or not.

thnx for the input..

well, i don't like the all black wheels.. the desired look is black spokes with machined lip (even tho that's no where near that), but when rolling, i think it doesn't look bad at all..

Don't really like it, takes away from the depth of the factory wheel design and looks almost mustang-ish. I'd say save your money and get OEM GT or Nismo wheels if you like the stock design and want 19's while keeping a modest budget.

Keep them silver, just lower your car. They will look 100x better. And if you must paint them, go all black or nothing. The painted spokes look horrible imo.

Nismo are too plain for my taste, and i really didn't feel the GT ones.

Some guy in the OEM wheel painting thread did that same exact paint job. Look through the thread and find it.

While I applaud him for being original, I personally didn't feel that it came out that well.

I think those wheels would benefit more from a gunmetal-esque paint.

Yeah, check out the DIY thread on painting your own rims. I did my stocks and posted up the results.

Those look horrible. I would do all black/dark grey or just keep what you have and save up for some aftermarkets.

just went looking for the "OEM wheel painting" thread and saw the GT painted in dark grey.. that just changed my mind about them wheels..

might try to get those in 19" and paint them black..

Yes, that's the car I was referring to. I think they look like painted stock wheels, which isn't good.

My opinion, NO, but if you are going to paint them I think those wheels look 1,000 times better one solid color, like black, gunmetal, flat black or grey. Good luck!
