Default Warranty Question on lowered Z

Finally I dropped my car off at a reputable alignment shop to do my alignment. I had the car lowered on Eibach Pro Kit springs and recently installed SBC Rear camber and toe bolt kit.

They were able to align the rears no problems back to oem specs. The fronts however they just hit me with some crap! Apparently my lower control arm is bent, and my ball joint is coming out! WTF?!!!!

My question is will this be an issue with warranty? I ask because the car has been lowered. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

nissan will probably try to blame your aftermarket springs as fault for circumstances leading up the damages... probably like if oem shocks and springs were used, it would provide proper dampening and or whatever to prevent shock damage to your control arms.. they can void your suspension warranty. but not for other parts of the car (engine, drivetrain, etc)

you musta hit a pot hole tho- springs or not, takes a good wallup to bend a lower control arm

post picts.

Hey "RedBullRR" I just purchased these.... I was told that they could get the alignment back into spec w/out camber arms..... I'm guessing this isn't the case????

Looks like your buying a newer arm , you should have niticed this before you lowered it. Or even while you were installing your springs

No, it wasnt a problem when i installed the springs. Wonder if it would be a wise idea just to put the oem springs back on before bringing the car to the dealer. Eibach states does not void warranty :-(

It's really hard for them to void the warranty for "bolt-ons". But, they probably are not going to cover this because it wasn't a defect or failure - it got whacked somehow.

Ur probly going to have to eat it, unless it becomes a recall within the next 24 hrs. Like the infamous lower control are recall of the 2G dsms. Doesnt matter what you did to the car they will replace them.

Then someone will pay if Nissan denies the clam, I say try! However if you restore it to stock you're going to get less crap and it'll be much easier.

the stealership would blame your aftermarket stuff even if it wasn't really at fault. unfortunately for you this time it probably IS due to the aftermarket springs.

As it turns out the Control Arms are not bent! The Left Lower Control Arm Bushing is shot! The Right Upper Ball Joint is shot! Unfortunately they dont sell this as a single unit, you must purchase the lower control arm (left) and the upper control arm (right). This is what was told to me by the Alignment Shop!

Does anyone know if this holds value? Can I just buy the bushing and ball joint?

Nismo makes the lower bushing, and the ball joint, well just buy aftermarket camber arms, it will probably be cheaper.

You know what gets me on these forums. Someone opens a thread for a silly question, and they receive responses/bashing we get about 20 something plus pages of people bashing and just overal wasting time. When valid questions are asked we cant even pass page 1. LOL

Sorry for the rant.... But seriously.

if you have issues with availability on the lower control arm bushings, try rhdjapan.com, they are out of japan and have to pay more but will get them in a couple of weeks and can be installed with a press.

Dropped the car off this morning at Nissan Service. Gave them a copy of the alignment report given to me by Gulfies. They said they respect there diagnoses since they have been around forever. Hoping for the best.

I'm sure there will be happy people here to know that lowering your car via springs does not void your warranty. Explained to them that the car steering was fighting with me and the front tires went completely bald on the insides within 2 months. Brought the car to an alignment shop and was told the control arm bushings were shot. Gave them the invoice from a reputable alignment shop. They just called me up to let me know that they will be ordered the control arms and should be here in a few days. Come pick up your car and we'll call you when they come in.

He did recommend however that I get camber plates for the front.
