Rotas?
#24
lol ok getting confused now haha...i want some decent looking wheels right now, and obviously don't want to spend a couple thousand on volks at this moment, so rotas seem like a plausible alternative for now, do you guys agree?

Sure, if you want the look but can't afford the real thing go with the rip off wheel.

For your civic, integra, subaru, or eclipse. NOT on your 350z. As mentioned earlier, PM rickdogg for details on rotas. Rickdogg > wheeldude

Listen Rotas are ok if your not gonna be tracking your wheel or don't care about the strength and weight of your wheel. Don't trip on these guys and decide to change your mind because the Rota haters on this forum. they look good and decent offsets but talk to wheeldude and he can get you a deal. DON'T talk to Rickdogg unless you have your flamesuit in the closet.

OK, I know Rotas have knock-offs of many Volk wheels, but I cant understand the extreme hate of the company. Most wheels are updated or recycled designs of previous wheels. Think about how many times the five spoke design has been used. Are all other wheels that use five spokes knock-offs of the original? You can urgue that they r not exact copies but neither are rotas if u r referring to exact specs. Yes I know they try very hard to look like Volks but how can u fault a company for trying to make a profit in a industry filled with very expensive wheels. I think they filled a niche. Many people in the US want these rare and expensive wheels but cant locate them or justify the $4000 premium to own them. I'm not saying the build quality is on par with volks or they are as light but they are an option for some not willing to drop that kind of money on wheels.
Also, why do so many assume that if choose a replica, u cant afford Volks, Works, etc. I personally was thinking about biting the bullet and purchasing some Volk GTS's. The price was high but it by no means would break my bank. I just couldn't justify spending that much on something thats going to depreciate and has more visual gains than performance gains. I would rather let the money gain interest in one of my savings accounts or invest it in my home.
Now Im not saying Im not going to purchase any wheels because I do need to set my Z apart from the others but if I do decide to get Volks, they will probably be used. I will let someone else take the initial depreciation and benefit from their lost. Plus, in our current economy everyone is selling all their toys for pennies on the dollar.
Oh and just for the record, I dont believe u should put volk stickers on rotas. Thats tacky. Be proud of what u choose to purchase, dont front.
Plus, there is probably some type of copyright law against doing that.
