Nice but the rear looks like 17's. Maybe it needs to be push out a little more.

I wonder if the difference between the gray and opal is subtle or drastic.
As per your request:

Holy crap that's nice!

The funny thing is this is the EXACT setup I was considering for my CS Performance. I was even thinking of going with the same tires sizes you mentioned.

Nice taste!

They're lighter than the stock 17s and, therefore, the stock 18s? If so, then that's fantastic. I may have to get me some! I was only balking at the weight uncertainty. The price is certainly nice. Are they forged or cast? Normally, I'd want to go for some nice forced wheels, since I'm averse to paying for wheels that are susceptible to damage, like most cast multipiece wheels, but I like how these look...

Vaery Nice!! I got a call from the local Discount Tire, that my wheels have come in. I went for the Fahrens Opals. I can't really make out any drastic difference between the Opal and the Gray from the pic above, but I guess they do look different in person. I've got to wait till I hear what Nissan will do to fix the feathering problem on the fronts. I'm on the second set of wheels. These were put on about 8K miles back and paid for by Nissan. My dealer asked me not to put on new wheels till we get the problem resolved with Nissan.

Awesome looking setup! I think I just made up my mind between these and the Rays tracks. Now I need to decide between Hyper Gray and Opal on my Super Black.

...and what tires?

They have become increasing popular sellers here...especially with the G35s. They are simply hot. Good weight, great price...hwo can you go wrong. Most choose the Falken 451s

Default Privat Fahren 18" in Opal

Here my PF's in Opal. Very highly polished, yet not as garish as a chrome would be on my LS. Some call them "Super Silver" too. Regards, Jim

Jim...Marilyn has nice posture. What have you done to her suspension? (Your photography is great, too.) Your car is the one that got me thinking about the PFs in the first place.

CaneZMD...Please post your SuperBlack when you get the PFs on.

Todd...Looks like I'll be ready to go as soon as I can decide on the tires. I'm leaning toward the Falkens. Anybody know anything good or bad about them? The price is right and they look good.

heh, that's actually what I was choosing when I decided on the PF. It's about the same price, with PF little cheaper, but it's new, and it has POLISHED LIPS! I just wasn't sure about the tps, but now I am very sure

Go with the Falken tires, I heard good things about them.. I will get those when I upgrade to bigger tires..

Marilyn thanks you and I thank you for your kind words!
Marilyn is sporting the first set of Eibach ProKit springs made for the 350. She is dropped 13/16" front and 14/16" in the back. Regards, Jim

JimH,
Have you had the feathering problem at all? I'm wondering if new tires and springs combo might take care of the feathering problem. It seems Nissan will not provide a permanent solution other than give us the run around every 8000 miles.

I'll speak up for Jim, and Im sure he'll reply also. The Eibachs, and a good alignment, + the new tires have significantly reduced the amount of feathering. I believe he said he had upwards of 12k on the tires before he noticed any wear. Am I correct Jim? And yes...he was the 1st brave soul to try out a set of Eibachs. We were both impressed with that stance. Looks like Marilyn is ready to pounce.

Alright, I'll post some pics......but they're not that good.
I haven't had a chance to wax the car for like 6 months, and I was gonna do it today and take some good pix, but (of course on the weekend) it's raining, and it's supposed to rain all next week.

Also, the pics are grainy, I had my G2 on too high of an ISO setting, sorry.

Default Feathering w/Nitto's?

Hey, Todd,
As you know, it was through your good auspices that I went with the setup I presently run. In fact, if you remember, I was hesitant to go with the Eibach's so early on as the first sacrificial lamb because no one knew how they would turn out.
As to the feathering issue, yes, the changeover has greatly improved things. My oem tires were pretty well gone @ 11k and I changed to Nitto's, Eibach's and Privat Fahren's @ 15k. I now have 24k on the Nitto's and it looks like they will go at least 35-38k+ total and I run Marilyn pretty hard both at the drags and at least monthly Z runs (and you know how hairy those can get!) Feathering is still there, but I would be going on my 3rd set of oem B-stones if I had stayed w/them! It is indeed time to get my adjustable camber rods installed! Regards, Jim

Thanks for posting, CaneZMD. The profile pic is a little dark to see the car well, but I can tell the PFs look good on black. The difference still amazes me. Those stock 17s make the Z look downright chunky.
