Default Anyone with S1's paint their inner hub/spindle area?

damn rusty spindle is bugging me. i want a clean look for a photo shoot coming up. is it ok to paint this area? i dont want to jack anything up.

You talking about the actual wheel hub with the studs? Ive seen them painted, but it eventually starts to peel and looks like poo

just the inner portion where center caps normally cover. Work S1's do not have center caps.

UPDATED: 5-8-13
okay, first i would go to autozone, etc and pick up this stuff....

or
Loctite brand is what i see they have now - same stuff pretty much...called "rust neutralizer"...


It cleans/treats rusted areas.........turns it into a paintable primer........nice stuff......works well..

Then i would get a heavy duty "duplicolor wheel paint" (guessing black?) since its designed for metal adhesion and temps...etc..

This was done with the duplicolor wheel paint - graphite color and been a few years and its held up great....
