Hi i have a 2003 touring 350z with the stock 17 inch wheels that im going to powder coat matte black. Do they need to be sand blasted before powder coated? Does anyone know that have done this?

I powdercoated mine, and sandblasted them ahead of time. The PC'er should know to do this, as well as a really good cleaning. At $40/wheel, I wouldn't assume much though. First you have to figure out how to take the wheels off.

A powdercoat shop will handle all of that for you.

Honestly, I think most people end up sacking the 17" wheels and upgrade to at least 18s or 19s at some point in the Z33 career. If I were you (and I didn't have a PC set-up like I do), I would simply paint them matte' black yourself as a temporary solution. Save yourself some money and bond with your car parts.

That, or pick-up a set of 18" stockers and paint them.
