Default Wheel lock + Key Program Questions

Hey Guys,

So I bought my used '06 350z back in September and only received one set of keys. I really want a spare just incase I lose mine (likely to happen) so I called up the dealer and they said 85.00 + labor to get a new key. Are there any alternatives to this or does anyone have a referral they can give me in the So Cal (Orange county/LA) area? Please let me know

Issue number 2:
The car has OEM wheel locks on them - i called the dealer and they said that they might have a master wheel lock to remove them, should I just buy another set of wheel locks (generic) from like Pep boys or something and get those installed or should i cough up the cash and pay Nissan to order the correct wheel lock for the rims?

Please advise

The answer to your 2nd question. They make special sockets you can buy at Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. You can use it to remove the wheel locks. Just buy a new set to replace them. The new set will come with a lock key and code also. You use the code to order a replacement lock key incase you ever lose the original. I picked up my set from Nissan for $50...

SO basically just go to autozone and pick up the socket that will fit the OEM lock and remove the lug nuts, and then just buy a new set of locks?

for ur first question, u can buy the remote/key from ebay and have it cut and programmed @ a local locksmith. just make sure they got the tools for programing the transponder inside the key.
