Default What to do, what to do...?

Ok guys, i slid into a curb and bent a wheel as many of you know. I had mike from firstplacewheels.com come out to my house and take a look at my wheel, he came to the conclusion that it cannot be fixed, it can however be rebuilt with a new barrell and what not. Here lies the problem, MAYA is no longer in business, there phone numbers don't work or anything and my rim was discontinued a long time ago. I talked to a couple of shops on the west coast that sell maya wheels and they said that they cannot order single parts from maya like barrells etc, what they told me i could do is send them my wheel and they will send it to someone that can replace the barrell then put them back together because they're a three piece wheel. nobody will give me an estimate over the phone bc they need to see it, so i dont even know what this would cost me. do u guys have any suggestions...? here's the pics that make me cry

you need to do a repair vs new purchase evaluation.

REPAIR
1. cost to remove single tire from damaged wheel
2. cost to ship wheel out to repair
3. cost for actual wheel repair & return shipping
4. cost to remount/balance tire on repaired rim
5. estimate 'cost' of downtime for wait of wheel repair

New wheel purchase
1. Cost of removing all old four tires from old set
2. cost of 4 replacement wheels with same size (so u can reuse your old tires)
3. Recooperate some funds by ebaying 3 remaining good Maya wheels

find a replacement set of 4 wheels, and the total cost for the 'new' set and estimate if that will be more than your repair costs

sorry to hear about your damages.. what caused you to slide out?

I have the same problem currently! Although come the 20th Axis will re-supply and I should be able to order my 2 new ones. G/L And like Chebosto said you are probably further ahead just getting a set and re-selling them. I feel your pain as my girl has been rolling on stockers for about a month!

You may need to consider replacing the tire also. Often when the sidewalls are deformed, the belts get bent and show up as a bubble once it's aired up again. Just FYI.

i would go with plan B in cheston's post. Some pretty good quality wheels can be had at reasonable prices.

same thing happened to me , just bought another set of wheels. really was more cost effective to buy a new set than try to repair it....that's also how I ended up withh an extra set of wheels though....

A similar thing happened to me and I ended up having a hairline crack in my rear subframe. To the untrained eye it seemed that I had only bent that same exact arm that you did but after further inspection I discovered the crack in rear aluminum subframe.

Then you need 4 wheels. A 275 mm tire does little to protect a 10.5 inch wheel. Guess you know that.
