Default Rx for outer tread wear

OK Doc's...I've got an 08 with OEM tires/wheels and 6k miles. The outer band of tread is wearing faster then the rest of the tires on all four tires. I noticed this a while back and said some thing to the dealer/mechanic and he says they are fine and within spec..but as the milage is increasing it is starting to be more and more noticeable. Now I'm starting to hear the beloved Bridgestone roar....
I want to put some Michelin PS2's A/S Plus tires on the car but wanted to know if this cound possible be a toe/camber issue since I will have to get this corrected no matter what I do..

So the OUTSIDE portion of your tire is wearing faster? Wow..don't get that much. Could be a couple things, most probable being too much positive camber (so weird saying that ) but could be a toe or caster issue. Toe or Caster generally wouldn't wear just the outside but I'll let others chime in as well.

Very aggressive cornering could also cause that affect. You sir are on a boat all by yourself.

put zero toe in the front. maybe 1/16 or 1/8" toe in each side in the rear

Forgot to mention, did the alignment shop give you a printout of the specs? That would help greatly, and is generally much wider accepted than "they are fine and within spec".

Default To align or not to align...that is the question..

Thanks for the replies fellows..The dealer/mechanic I speak of above is where I bought the car (Hunt Nissan of Chattanooga). I got the extended warranty and it came with 3/yr free oil changes so I'm in ever 3 months or so and they pretty much check over the car each time (tires/brakes/etc).

Like I said, I noticed the wear about 1k miles ago and said some thing at my next oil change and they told me that "they (tires) were within spec"..??

I think the whole game here has been to get me beyond the 1 year warranty (which will be out next week) and then the tires are mine and they want have to worry about it.

At this point I haven't had it in to an alignment shop. I hate these tires so I'm kind of hoping they will wear out so I can get some PS2's or (after reading about a billion threads) now I'm leaning towards the Eagle F1 GS-D3....thanks to Spike100's last thread....I just don't want the same thing to happen to what ever I get next....

Default Can I flip

Going to resurrect this thread since my question pertains to the initial problem. Since I have outer tread wear would it be possible to rotate tires (I know you can’t do front to back) keeping the wheels where they are, just flipping the tires so as to make the (for example) right rear the left rear and the outer part of the tire would now be the inner part of the tire. Just trying to get a few more miles out of the OEM tires...Thanks guys..

I would honestly just get new rears and then get an alignment done. Get the specs sheet after its been done to see how bad your camber, toe were off. I wouldnt suggest just letting it go though

Don't get new high $ PS2s without getting the alignment sorted out.

BTW, PS2s rule (not the A/S you first mentioned).
