Huh......

Considering the average stock class car here (DC region) is probably running a 285......on stock width wheels. In fact you would probably have trouble finding one on a 255 outside of ST, STX, and STR. 285-295 on an 8" wheel is not uncommon at all.....

Car should be ready for full shot next year. Gotta couple more things before I post the whole car up.

Disagreed. I run 305s for autox - I am faster than when I ran 285s.

My 300 can only fit 295s, yet I still spin the tires as the boost builds and the torque peaks. I would greatly enjoy wider tires assuming they are as new as what I'm running so that they provide more grip.

The 315s are rad.

Now see if your friend wants to make the fronts nice withOUT the spacers.

Need help from knowledgeable guys and I thought this would be the right department. I am looking to run 18x10 +15 all around, with 255/40 front and 295/35 rear. I have standard brakes and I'm wanting to do a mild drop. maybe pinky finger spacing.

Can anyone advise me on what I am going to have to do beyond rolling the rear fenders? I am not new to the Z, but I AM new to this idea. Thanks!

I have a somewhat similar setup up to you (18x10.5 unknown offsets 255/40 295/40) and I didn't need to roll my fenders and have about a 1 finger gap.

I don't like that front tire size much, but the rear should be ok with a good roll.

295/40? Really? Without knowing your offsets, you can NOT compare.

What 18x10 +15 wheels are you looking at?

scotts300,

I am looking at the Rota Grid 18x10 +15. Are you suggesting a different front tire size? is the siedwall too much?

Yeah I run a 40 aspect ratio. I think the rears are +43 but I really don't know. But like you said it's hard to compare. All I know is with my offsets it doesn't look like its possible to even run a wider tire without rubbing on both inside and outside.

That will be a good wheel - I'd just like to see something meatier up front since it's a 10" width.

Yup, I saw your car FS post, and I love the SSR Comps (have a set on my 300). The rear 18x10.5 should be the +43 offset. The front 8.5 is probably +31 or so. Love those wheels.

Scott300,

Can I get away with a 265/35 and 295/35 without affecting VDC? Will the 265/35 rub or require any modification? Or if not that tire, which tire do you recommend? Thanks for all your help...

Do you plan on doing any kind of competing with that tire set up (autox, track, drift, etc.)?

If you want excessive and have people say "wow, that's a lot of tire-how-did-you-do-that?" get 285/30/18s for all four. Plus you'll balance out the understeer of the car, give yourself rotateability (that's a funny word), and be ready IF you ever want to do any spirited driving / competing.

Otherwise, I think the 265/295 set will work ok depending on if the tire runs wide and how the shoulders are designed. It's the 295 rear I'm worried about, as I have never seen a really good fender roll so I have avoided them like anthrax on tampax.
