Tire is leaking air but no nal in the tire.. Help?
I got my stock wheels refurbished from a bit of curb rash.. They dismounted the tire refinished it and remounted the tire. I checked my tire for any punctures but couldn't find one.. COuld it be possible that they didnt seal the tire right when remounting it and that could be causing the slow leak?
take some soapy water and squirt it along the edge and watch for bubbles
I was thinking it was the bead as well.. Its to late to go out there now and mess with it but i'll figure out the problem tommorow. Im prob gonna take it down to a local tire shop and see what the deal is.
And the rim is DEFF not bent because when they refinish a wheel they look for dents as well and would have fixed it. The rim didnt have a problem untill they remounted the tire.
We shall see tommorow.. What do you think the pin nside the valve stem is F'ed up or do you think the stem its self is cracked? Cause if it was cracked It would loose air alot faster then it has been.

With the old fashioned rubber stems, they usually worked until they got old and cracked (although there was a recall of a bunch of Chinese ones last year) and by then the tire was baked as well, so it was rare they would fail before being replaced at the next tire change.
The TPS types and aluminum types (like on Volks) take more skill to install and it seems even today, with all the cars on the road with TPS systems, it is hard to find tire shops that can get these right 100% of the time.
i hit a nasty pot hole i couldn't avoid(narrow road 2 way traffic) killed my 2 week old $340 Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST Run Flat broke the bead or something
I had a real slow leak on my old PIAA wheels and found it to be the based of the valve stem - the nut was not tightened down hard enough on the rubber ring / gasket that makes the seal. Then more recently on my volks, the actual valve body in the stem was not tightened enough and it would leak air.
