Nub here, need help.
hi Sean-
it's not that this place isnt right for affordable rims, its that some of us have 'been there-done-that', and have seen what cheaper, non-correct offset wheels will do to the Z.
The majority of the posters here are right, the +38 offset are sucken in a bit much, and i'd even wonder if it would hit the brake calipers.. a high 30 offset are for like Altima or Maxima offsets.
our Zs normally are in the high 20s offset... when the wheels are further out to the corners, your car will handle better due to being further out at each corner.. plus it will be more flush with the fenders. many members here play with offset to get desired looks at the consequence of a smaller selection of tire widths..
golden rule, you get what you pay for.. if you're going to be paying $1000 for a set of 'whatever' rims, that you will eventually get rid of and buy nicer wheels when you can 'afford it' you might as well not do it and just save up.. why waste it in the first place? run the stock wheels or paint the stock wheels for your desired color look, and when u do have better income, get the set of good wheels.
there are several deals on the classified forum for Used wheels that look very similar, in the correct Z offsets that can be had for ~$1500. i've even heard of scoring Volk rims with tires in that range if you search hard enough.
also very important that i forgot to mention: you can do everything u want on the Z. power wise.. handling wise.. but you still only have 4 places that touch the ground, and that's Tires. Never. ever. cheap out on tires, for safety reasons. get the best tires you can afford.

Since when are General tires crap? From what I've read online and on tirerack they are highly rated every time they are reviewed. I was looking at the Michelin PS2 or w/e but they were like $250 each and these seemed to not be far behind and at $100 cheaper each.
I was looking at other rims that you guys might approve of that are affordable and found these.
http://wheelstudio.com/catalog/produ...&staggered=yes
Which I could find them a little cheaper however.
Thanks chebosto, correct me if I'm wrong but there must be cheaper rims out there that will fit fine and work for me that don't cost a lot of money. I understand you get what you pay for but I'm not asking for a lot. I want rims that will fit fine as stated in my first post without hitting anything.

oh yea. btw. you are acting like a 19 yr old... when people are trying to give u suggestions that you asked for in the first place you should take them in consideration instead being so defensive.
if your mind is already set, then just go get them.. and you'll learn from it.

... (Cough) ....
Well to each his own....but if your on this forum you hate, you must be here for advice, and why not listen to ppl that have been in your place before you and who know a HELL of alot more about your car than you do.
Wait till you get those rims on your car...the wheels will be so sunken in the wheel well they will look horrible. You may like them at first, but in about 3 months or less you will hate them...i promise you.

Get anything you want in the sizes your looking at, but just make sure your offsets are around 20-25. This will make them flush and look MUCH better.

Just save up a little extra, $1500 can get you a nice set of quality wheels or even high end wheels used.
Go for it and buy the General UHPs. Just don't ever get into a Z with good tires (like the PS2s "or w/e", Invo, SPTs, etc., etc., etc.)
I'd suggest you search for used wheels, but you'll probably get offended by that also. I'm also impressed that you've worked since you were 16 and saved all your money to buy your Z and pay the expenses, gas, and insurance on one of the most expensive cars to insure on the road today. Sorry if I jumped the gun on that.

Please just leave the forum. If you insist on putting on crappy rims any civic driver would buy then go ahead. People are trying to give you real advice and you are taking none of it. You are acting your age and you wonder why so many of us are against young Z owners. Please leave and do us all a favor.

I have a set of 20" TSW's (gasp omg 20's!!) that i absolutely adore (visually). The stance on them are completely fine (in my opinion) with offsets that I'm scared to mention out loud in this forum. Yes, I'm moving away from them for my recently purchased G35 wheels but only because of weight and nothing more. As for tires, I agree with whoever mentioned how important they are because they are the the main thing between you and the road. However, you CAN get a good performing tire for a lot less than some well known, overly hyped ones. Just do your research, read reviews, etc.
Rofl @ the temper tantrum..

so, your previous wheels you listed were $150 ea for fronts. $166 ea for rears, four wheel staggered setup: $632 + Tax 9.25% + Shipping (~$15 a wheel) =~$750
the TSWs were listed at $275 ea. x 4 = 1100 + Tax + Shpping = ~$1261 but you said these were too expensive..
lets average the both sets to get a ballpark figure for just wheels: ~$1005 for four wheels shipped..
General Tires at $150ea x 4 + tax = $656
SO your tires and wheels package would be around ~$1650 ideal..
here's a list of good decent tires/wheel combos on our used market place..

https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...per-hiros.html
https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...and-9-5-a.html
etc..
i'd get that staggered CR Kai's if it was my car on that budget...

This was good for a laugh this afternoon.
I've easily spent $10k on a myriad of super high-end wheels, although
I am easily one of the cheapest people on the boards. Listening to this
kid justify his own incorrect concepts was the most fun I've had all day.
Now I'm going to mull through some pro-forma's and play some poker.
Thanks Sean!

You will just continue to see these threads by younger kids who cant afford anything more as the car becomes more and more affordable. I cant imagine what the next five years will bring when you can get an 03 for 5-6k.
