I guess its hit and miss .. if I get alignments every 6 months or so and keep the toe where its supposed to be that might cure my problems

the dealer said the wheels are toe'd out right now which is causing the feathering ..

just ordered the Tein S-Tech springs .. so I'll get an alignment a couple weeks after I install them

as for the alignment .. saw something about "lifetime alignments" at some places .. is it a gimmic or worth getting?

I'd think it would be worth getting if the place does a decent job, is reputable and you can trust them with your Z. Check for limitations in their coverage (i.e. one check a year).

Every time I take my car to the shop, the front toe is "out". I do drive it hard and our roads totally suck but the price of an alignment is a whole lot less than $800 for front tires.

yea .. im going to look into the lifetime alignment thing .. if everything looks fine im gonna get it done atleast every 6 months since I drive alot and the roads suck here too

I wonder why the toe likes to jump out on the 350z's .. don't see how it does it but anyways ..

saw the price of tires and its a big difference coming from a 91 turbo mr2 .. bought tires for it $50 / piece

now im looking over $200 / piece

15k and my tires are feathering like that. I have an alignment rack in my shop so I guess I'll be aligning it myself very often. I dont even feel like going to the dealer since I just put in hotchkis sway bars and they will come up with some BS excuse.

Didnt even think of flipping the tires, but I will do that.

Flipping of the tires was the first fix that Nissan did for owners who came in complaining aobut the roar, plus they aligned the car. The problem was that their alignment machines were usually out of spec so the alignment didn't really help, in my case it made it worse. By the time the TSB came out, in addition to getting new tires and an alignment, dealers were required to provide proof of calibration of their machines within the previous 6 months. No proof, no reimbursement for the tires.

That is a good idea.

I estimate the life of the tire them swap at half that. Does not cure the feathering but extends the useful life of the tire.
