Default Little worried about my fitament on new Volk GTS's

So I just got the tires mounted today but.., wheels are 9.5/+17 and 10.5/+18. I threw one of the rears on the car while it was up in the air and didnt have a tire mounted so I obviously couldnt let the car down. I am running stock suspension at the moment and when I threw the bare rim on the car while in the air it stuck out past the quarter panel by about an inch. When the tires are mounted and the car is sitting on flat ground will the wheel tuck in due to stock camber or not?? I am growing concerned about the rim sticking out far, am I nutz or what?

no, you're not nuts, lol. it should fit pretty flush with the fender depending on your tire size.

I ended up with 255 in front and 285 in the rear.

those are my favorite wheels. congrats. but you'll need to run some negative camber for those wheels/tires to fit. probably ~2-2.5. I'm at 2.5 with the same offsets. did you get the rear camber kit? you'll definitely need that. you'll also need to cut/roll fenders.

I will roll the fenders yes, but no camber kit. Was is the stock camber set too? I know its negative but not how much...any recommendation on a rear camber kit?

PS: the car is not lowered..

still need a camber kit. you'll eventually lower it anyways.
but i have the SPC camber kit. most recommend that one around here.

i think stock is 1.5-2? Mine's at 2.5 but i'm lowered a lot. you'll probably need 2-2.5 because your rear tire is 10mm wider than mine.

yep. also, some shops won't tell you... but when you run 2.5 camber, and out of OEM spec toe... you'll want to save some money by rotating the rears a little less than half way through their known life span. the inside runs down quicker than the outside. the shops that won't tell you want you in there sooner to buy more tires

Yeah I am really familiar with camber/caster/toe stuff so I will deff rotate them, thanks again. I had a really hard dicifering information about running these wheels on stock suspension. See I live in MN so lowering the car a lot is not practical. The roads are sh*t here, but I dont drive in the winters either.

i know the feeling. i lost ~$1000 or so dollars because i LOVED the way my car was slammed. just throw some 1 inch maybe a tad more lowering springs on. if you have the stock bumper, won't make much difference except appearance wise.

......I have a good feeling I will be going broke..again. I just bought Volks, tires, rotors, pads, lugs, and center caps this week alone. Not to mention the 3K in a new paint job! Ugh.

I had the same wheels/tires combo and at stock ride height I only needed to cut/roll my fenders to fit them no additional camber or anything else was needed at stock ride height.

You should be ok. I'm running same size tires (255/285) with same fitment/offset wheels and I'm lowered on Eibach Sportlines. I had to roll the rear fenders but other than that, it doesn't rub.

BTW, those wheels are SICK!

Thanks for the support Farmer, I am gonna mount them up next Wednesday when the car is done and test it out.

Thanks for the complement, I may be painting the centers formula silver because the car is going to be all satin black.

What tire brand and model? If it's one that runs wide, that'll be tight all around. I just detailed a car with 19x9.5 +25 and 19x10.5 +22 Volks with 245/275 tires, and it's very close. That size tire gives enough "poke" to allow it to clear. 10 more mm would be very tight, and likely rub on this car.

Got them mounted in the rear, 19x10.5/+18....285/35/19. They ended up sitting great on the stock suspension and dont require a camber adjustment.
