Want to buy Rota GRIDs...but have some questions.

why would you buy such narrow tires...
If you're gonna spend the money on new wheels and tires, might as well get it right the first time.
Id suggest for going something meaty, like in the 255-275 range. Find the appropriate sidewall height and you'll be set. Since the wheels wont be staggered, you could do a 265 or 275 all around and have really nice, balanced handling that staggered setup wont have. Plus, you'll have the ability to rotate your tires.
Of course...if you were going for the stretched look, then I guess the sizes you want are fine.

this thread kinda makes me shake my head but here goes.
you shouldn't let the tires you have on the car right now determine what kind of wheels you get. that seems bassakwards to me. why dont you just drive on those tires you have now and once their worn out buy a good set of wheels with the proper tire sizes.

i had 2 sets of tires on grids, rs2's and 595's. i loved the look of a small stretch (235/245) but there was never any protection against curbing the wheel... so i ended up getting 265's all around.

I can understand the rotational weight consideration, but why not just buy some 9 inch wide wheels or something that will fit your tire size better, it'll also cut down on the weight and you'll have an appropriate performing wheel since the tire would be sized appropriately for the wheel.
In any case, thanks for all the help, everyone. I spoke to WheelDude already about the issue.

Thanks for the PM regarding the Rota Grid's Arnold!
As discussed, the Rota Grid in Hyper Silver is only offered in a non staggered 18x9.5 +20 fitment. Since you plan to use your existing OEM sized 225 front and 245 rear tires, the Rota Grid wheels would not be an ideal setup as you can't safely mount a 225 tire on a 9.5" wheel.
As others have mentioned, an ideal street setup for the non staggered Rota Grid's would be 245/40/18 (slight stretch) or 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear.

No problem, Dan.
I'm thinking Hyper Silver or Gold DPTs in 9" all around would be okay too. If anything, I can at least upgrade the front tires to a 235/45/18 - which should allow me to run 9" DPTs all around.

As a heads up, this is what 245's look like on a 9.5 wheel. Slightly stretched. Using anything smaller would probably be too much. (rears are 275)

The wheels are Rota Grid's in 18x9.5 +20 non staggered fitment. Also as mentioned by the OP, the car has a 25mm spacer in the rear for an "aggressive" fitment. I typically recommend running this setup without a spacer as you can run a much larger tire with minimal to no fender modifications required.
Here's the Rota Grid 18x9.5 +20 without spacers on a couple track driven 350Z's, still great fitment
