Default Tire pressure light issue - Please help!

Yesterday, I have noticed the low tire pressure warning lamp flashed for 1 min, then it turned on solid. After about couple hrs, it turned off until this morning it turned on again after flashing for 1 min. I believe it's malfuntion for some reason. I checked the pressure and the transmitters to see if they fell off, but they were fine.

Should I disconnect the BCM (body control module) and reconnect it?

Please let me know what I need to do to fix this problem instead of taking to the stealership.

Thanks in advance.

Since the tire pressure fluctuates with temperature, it could be related. I notice that as my tires heat up with driving and/or weather temp. my TPMS read out fluctuates as much as 4-5 lbs. I just had the tire air replaced with nitrogen which is supposed to reduce the variance.

Oh, I'd bet there's a malfunction alright.

Did you check your owners manual to see what causes that indicator to illuminate? The most common cause is low tire pressure. It's been cooler recently, hasn't it? What happens when it gets cool? The tire pressures drop.

Did you check the pressure in your tires? Is it close to 28psi, especially when cold?

Once you start driving around, the tires heat up and the pressure rise and the warning will go off all by itself, even without unplugging the BCM.

Of course, if you're under warranty, you can take it to the dealer and have them check it. I'm sure it will make their day

When did you check the tire pressure?
What was the pressure when you checked it?
What kind of gauge did you use?

if the tires in the right pressure and light stays on even after driving, possible sensor malfunction. I had to replace one of mine before 'cus the damn light turns on even when tires in the correct pressure.
