Default help with axis?

ive been lurking around under the radar for the past week or two gathering tons of information. first of all, thanks for a great site. ive learned a TON of information regarding some of the upgrades i am looking for.
i have found a 08 Z that is completely stock that i can get off of the guys hands for a steal.
however, im a little iffy about some things. first being wheels
ive read alot about offsets, but i havent figured it all out exactly.

my plans are dropping my Z as soon as i get it, but not going out of control with it. i dont have anywhere around here to roll fenders. i have made some phone calls and every place says they either cant do it, or it will require a repaint. after reading on it on here, i know that a repaint is not always the case. but anyway, i want to try keeping it to where i dont have to roll fenders.
im not positive on how far to drop it yet either, just not too crazy. i have already made up my mind on tire sizes, being 245/40/18 fronts and 275/40/18 rears. im looking at the axis halo wheels (8.5 f, 9.5 r), but the offsets that they offer(vividracing.com) is 45mm, 35mm, and 29mm on front, and 50mm, and 40 mm on rear. what should i do?

most people i see are running like +15 or +22. is there something i am missing, or have i just not read up enough??? i saw those huge numbers and was like wow what to do, so i decided to fall back on you guys for a little help.

hoping this subject hasnt been covered. i searched some but did not find what i was looking for exactly. however, if someone does know a thread that i need to look at first, please let me know.

thanks in advance guys

The wheels are a little narrow and those offsets are horrible. Slightly more aggressive is 9.5F 10.5R you could run the same tire sizes and high teens low 20s for offsets are where you want to be 8.5/9.5 with +29 offsets would be tucked waaaayyy under your car. Did you search axis on here i did see vendors selling them awhile ago and a friend of mine has a set I never asked the size or offsets but they fit flush so they were likely low 20s.

I think you should get a 350Z first.

very easy issue to solve

if you want it to look better than stock (more aggressive) without having to even think or worry about rolling/pulling quarter panels, or anything in between, I'd suggest a 10mm spacer up front and a 20mm out back. With a reasonable drop this will look nice and clean without the need to mod the body at all

First off, hats off to you for learning before speaking, thats what this site is mainly meant for....a library for the Z....many dont get that and ask the most basic questions looking to be spoon fed.

Axis Halo wheels were not intended to be put on the Z, hence the non agressive offsets. The Axis Hiros, Pentas, Super Hiros, Matrix, and Shines are the wheels with Z friendly offsets. The Halo is meant more for the smaller imports, ie Evos, civics, etc.

The Hiros and Super Hiros were specifically designed for the Z, hence Axis' 2 show Z's that sported them (they are both sold from Axis now, though).

For wheels with 8.5/9.5 widths, your looking for offsets in the high teens to low 20's.

For reference, my Hiros are 8.5/9.5 and carry offsets of 20/25, respectively. They sit pretty damn flush on my Z without spacers and with my drop and dont require rolling.

thanks a ton everyone.
im not very familiar with offsets so decided to ask before buying. I may break down and buy some volks. expensive, but awesome looking wheels.
i have been searching alot on suspension as well and i believe im going to go with Cusco Zero 2 coilovers. not set in stone with that decision, but from some of the reviews i have been reading on here, alot of people seem to love them.
if anyone else knows somewhere i can look around for parts or any suggestions, please let me know.
im very thankful for the advice. thanks again
