They suck. Worst tire ive had on my Z. I cant comment on track performance but as far as hooking up goes they just spin. Now that I have around 3k on them they really spin, I can roast them going into 4th now. In the rain they are pretty much death tires. I have to go 60 on the interstate while Camrys pass me doing 90.

I did come from GS-D3's so these were a major downgrade. The Eagles grab untill the last mile!

As soon as the stock RE050s on my Nismo go bald, I'm upsizing to the Hankooks in 265.35.18F and 295.30.19R. While I've bought a few tires from Tire Rack and have been more than satisfied with them, I will order the Hankooks from onlinetires.com when it comes time. Even including slightly more expensive shipping, onlinetires.com sells the Hankooks for noticeably less.
FYI: DTD sells them cheaper than tirerack AND onlinetires (the latter not by much, about $12 less shipped):

I went to checkout on tirerack and it says these tires have a higher load rating? what does that mean exactly?

Any tire that is extra load on our site gets that tag. Some people are more sensitive to ride quality than others. To avoid conflict we tag xl tires and let people know they may ride stiffer than a standard load. Just like everything these days you have to hand hold and put warnings on stuff. I've never had anyone call back and return a set of tires due to them being xl load rated and too stiff to ride on. Something I would disregard in this case.

I wasn't impressed with them on my friend's G35 compared to my T1R's but for the cost for a complete set you really can't complain.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it.

I'm surprised at how much life I'm getting out of the stock RE050s. I have almost 12K on the clock and the front and rear rollers still have a lot of depth left (maybe because I drive gentler now and I take public transportation and hardly drive the Nismo anymore). I figure I will be looking to replace at around 20K.

I"m currently running the Hankook Ventus V112's... Just got them installed today at my local gas station. In my opinion, they are awesome tires.. And they pretty much rival the nitto N555 too. If I were you, I'd check out discount tire direct first before any other tire website. That's where I ordered mine from. But all in all, Awesome ****ing tire and when it's time for my LMGT4's, I will still run them..

Lots of reviews on the 370Z and quite a few members have tracked them. Sidewalls are like gummy bears on the track. Tire's are one place, where you cannot cheap out, if you want to be competitive. Driver > proper vehicle > tires > etc, when it comes to the track.

I'm happy with them... got them in a couple weeks ago, broke the Z out of storage to toss them on my new 19" Super Laps. Been running a week and they seem like a really solid tire. tirerack was awesome, prices on these are awesome.

The v12s are a great value tire - low price, very good performance, and generally long wear (about 10-12 track days). I put about 20 track days in total on them (i.e. 2 different sets) and they hold their own on the track for a street tire and were good enough to win the local SCCA Autocross stock street tire 140+ class, but not by much.

That said, they are still a 280 treadwear tire which is why they wear longer and won't perform as well as 140 tire like RS3s, RE011, StarSpecs, Kumho XS, etc. This year I moved up to Hankook RS3s (140 treadwear) which dropped my best lap time from a 2:10.6 down to a 2:07.3 at High Plains Raceway. This is on a nearly stock (i.e. no engine mods) 350Z Nismo. The only difference was the tires and was on a different day w/ similar weather conditions. That's a 2.5% improvement which may (Time Trial), or may not (PDX/HPDE, Daily driver) justify the expense of a stickier tire. IMO they are a very capable tire at an extremely good price for its category and would highly recommend them for most applications where maximum performance isn't the goal.

LOVE mine! I remember when i first heard about them that the subi guys have been raving about them for a cost alternative for Super high end tires with the similar performance/durability...have had mine for over 6k miles now and barely any signs of wear

just got my 285/35-19 and 255/35-19 put on today...so far love the tires. they feel very stable and have considerably less noise than the General Exclaim UHP I had before. IMO very good tire for the price as far as i can tell so far.

Installed em today. Way quieter than the A/S plus. Too soon to tell on performance.

i have these in a 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear on rpf1's and honestly its bizare how good these tires are with grip. ive had them for a week now and thoroughly scrubbed then down and am amazed how neuteral my cars feels. if you're comming down from a extreme grip tire you will probably be dissapointed but for a normal street tire im kind of at a loss for words because they just shouldnt be this good
