Anybody running em?

Looking to do a 295/30/19 in them, $208 a piece.

These will probably be my next tire....just can't decide what size. I don't know if the 295/30/19 will fit with the stock NISMO wheels. I may have to go 285s. I have had good luck with HANKOOKs in the past. My wifes SUV came with hankooks, and we have over 60k on them. No problems, nice ride, low noise, I think it is a good quality tire.

 

I've been happy with mine so far from a performance stand point. Have about 3k road miles and 5 track + 5 autocross days on them. Still too early to say on durability. I bought them based on two great magazine reviews focused on track peroformance and price. I'm running 285/245 on stock Nismo/Rays. Another Colorado guy is running 295, maybe 305s, on his, can't remember though. Tire Rack I believe has a wheel/tire size chart.

 

My only concern is having to roll fenders if I go with 295s

 

can't help you with the fender bit since I have a G, but I have them in 295/30/19 for my rears on 19x11's and I love them. Just to keep it simple, great performance and price.

 

Can't comment from experience, but from everything I've read they are a solid purchase. I'm going to be running them on my new Meisters in the spring

Been a great tire since they came out. Good life, dry/wet traction, low noise, etc. Home run really, esp for the cost.

yeah i just bought me two new 285/35 for my nismo. i hear that they was ranked number two out of 45 tires tested (good tires)

 

The Ventus V12 Evo has been getting great reviews ever since introduction, especially its cost to performance ratio.

As soon as the stock RE050s on my Nismo go bald, I'm upsizing to the Hankooks in 265.35.18F and 295.30.19R. While I've bought a few tires from Tire Rack and have been more than satisfied with them, I will order the Hankooks from onlinetires.com when it comes time. Even including slightly more expensive shipping, onlinetires.com sells the Hankooks for noticeably less.

 

I had 19" V12's on my G coupe and I didn't like them at all, only had 'em on for about 500 miles before the G was totaled but in those 500 miles I was wishing I had my kumhos back. The hankooks felt vague in corners almsot like they were over inflated a lot (which they were not)

 

which kumhos did you have before? might help in understanding your comparison and experience with them. Also I wouldnt say the first 500 miles of a tire are good enough to get an accurate feel for them given all of the grease and such still on them while being new.

As for what I know about Kumhos line-up of tires. I would say they do not offer a direct comparison against the v12. The ESCTA SPT is more of a higher mileage performance tire, might have better wet traction but probably pales in dry traction compared to the V12. Then beyond that for Kumho you are looking at 220 and below rated tires which should have more grip than the 280-rated V12.
