Thanks for confirming. At least now I know "TE37 limited edition" labeling is not unheard of.

OK, mine came with all that, including the tags on the wheels like on one of your pics.

Yep, mine have the exact same stickers inside the wheels and the insides are flat black too.

I am sure the wheels are legit. IIRC the seller might have had them cleared - seems some memory is coming back from when I bought them - it's all a distant memory with how buried in projects I've been at work.

I don't expect any support from Mackin since they were not the importer. Also I don't expect anythign from the seller - all private sales are as-is anyway and he was legit and did not mis-represent the wheels, but I'll call him after the holidays just to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks for replying, Mike. I feel a lot better now.

Again, the wheels are so awesome, I don't care much about the clear flaking, it's just an inconvenience. I might check out a couple respectable wheel repair shops in the area to see what they have to say about repairs.

*thread revival*

I just bought a set of used LE37T which are in decent shape, but the lips on both the rear wheels have some nicks/gouges/scrapes that I want to have repaired before mounting tires. There are a couple wheel repair shops in the area that I am considering, but I don't know how much experience they have with Volk wheels with machined+clearcoated lips.

Is there a particular type of clear coat that the shop should use to give the lips the original Volk finish, or at least get close?

The wheels are angry at you for having so much tire gap

edit I fail LOL oooooold thread

sry-just a good automotive quality clearcoat will work. My friend owns a Wheel Shop and machines lips and clears them it looks IDENTICAL to Volks finish side by side.

Alberto, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if Volk used something special, considering half of the LE wheels I've ever seen end up with that "rainbow" effect. I just wanted to make sure I don't end up with a polished look after they repair and re-clear the lips.
