Default Tire gash

Hi everyone, I just bought my Z last week and love it, except for the winter handling. This isn't my daily driver, so I'm not concerned about getting to work or anything, but I thought it would be able to handle a plowed road the day after a storm; it couldn't and I'm not new to rwd. To remedy the situation I just bought a set of winter tires / wheels on ebay. One of the tires has a gash on the tread. The seller included this picture and mentioned that he drove on it last year. Does this tire look safe? I haven't seen it in person yet, but I dont think that looks too bad. What do you think? Even if I have to replace the tire, I think I got a pretty good deal.

its hard to say.....i see the tire sipe's.....

but as for the gash its a "ya never know kinda thing"

all up to you if you wanna roll like that......i like to think of it this way:
If im on my way to work and i get a simple blow out, no harm, just a blow out.......and i have to mess with changing a tire and being late, getting all worked up over the inconvience..........to me it isnt worth it....

then again....you can get a blow out on a new tire........ya never know..........

all im say'n...
