Default GTR tires and wheels on '04 Track

The GTR tires and wheels I bought just arrived and I tried to mount them on my 2004 Track but the front tires contacted the steering arm and came very close to the Brembro brakes. It looks like a 10mm spacer would work but wanted to see what others had done.

Thanks.

The offset on a factory wheel is what +40 in the front so you need a 15 or 20mm spacer.

He is definitely going to need a 20 or 25 mm spacer then. lol. I had a +42 offset on my volks and the 20 mm brought the wheel out flush with the fender. I had a 19x8.5 in the front your probably going to need to roll your rear fenders as well.

so you dropped a couple grand on a set of GT-R wheels without researching fitment/ offsets first?
Buy some 20 or 25mm spacers and post pictures.

I appreciate your input. Any thoughts on wheels spacers or are they all created the same? Kics? Eibach?

I recently purchased the car and it already has the same size tires as the GTR set, but I cannot get traction to keep them from spinning. Even in third gear the rear tires (Falken) break loose between 62 - 86 mph. The current wheels are Privat from SEMA several years ago when they were looking at doing forged wheels. I wanted to use the GTR tire/wheel combo to save the custom rims plus the tires are stickier. I anticipated having to uses spacers or perform some modifications; the GTR set up was a good deal and I couldn't let it pass.

The car was originally shipped to Australia for APS to develop their twin turbo kit and it was tuned by the Aussies.

roll the fenders and get ichiba or project kics spacers. DO NOT BUY CHEAP EBAY CRAP. Get the spacers that are like adapters with wheel studs built into them.

Never tried it but ...if 10 mm will work than 20 mm is better. Not that I want you to be cool but suspension clearance will change once the car is moving. I say err on the safe side - move the wheels out.

Your 8.5" width and +42 offset sits much differently than his 9.5" +45 offset wheel. His wheel will have material 15mm more on the inside and 9mm more on the outside. A 15mm spacer will be plenty, a 25mm will likely be too much unless he runs a stretched tire.

He won't need to roll the rear fenders unless he uses a spacer that is too large.

Do you recommend I run a spacer in the rear? If so, how thick?

Just to confirm 15mm spacer in front will allow clearance; correct?

Thanks.

The wheels are front 20x9.5 +45mm offset and rear 20x10.5 +25mm offset. I don't have any experience with 20" wheels, I am basing my advice on experience with 18 and 19" wheels. I think a 15mm front spacer would work well, a 20mm spacer may be better and work equally as well. I'd go to your local NAPA or auto parts store and pick up a cheap set of the shim-type spacers. They are usually 5mm in size and come in packs of four, so you can use them JUST FOR SIZING one one wheel to see what you'll need for a spacer, THEN order a good 15 or 20mm spacer.

The rear wheel shouldn't need a spacer at all, but you could likely use one of the 5mm shim-spacers you buy from step one on each of the rear wheels depending on how wide the rear tires actually are on the R35 wheels. We run a 19x10.5 +28 with a 305 tire and it fits without issue, but if I put a 5mm spacer on it to net a 19x10.5 +23, it rubs. I'd probably scratch the rear spacer entirely, unless you like how the 5mm shim spacer looks and it doesn't rub.
