Should I get new front tires?
Car Info: 2003 350Z Touring, all stock.
I went to the dealership back in March for a required state safety inspection and was told I needed to replace the rear tires in order to pass. They said my fronts still had a decent life left from what I remember ( the fronts have like 8 or 9K miles on them ).
Now the problem... when applying the breaks while in a tight corner at speed the whole front of the car makes a wicked nasty ABS type noise along with some crazy vibrations ( makes u think the car is gonna explode or something ). I don't remember it doing this before I had the rear tires replaced.

My car is 100% stock. Its a 2003 touring with the touring wheels. Not sure what size the wheels are, but the front tires are 225/45 - rear are 245/45.

Did you go look at the tire sizes or are you just assuming that's what's on there. you'd be surprised how many people unknowingly get the wrong sizes installed. Shops do make mistakes.
If they truly are the correct sizes, are they the same brand/model tires? Different tires have different handling and braking characteristics which can cause ABS/TCS/VDC problems.
New tires also come coated with a slippery release agent. That can make them squirelly for the first hundred miles or so until the surface gets scuffed up.
If your fronts are getting worn, or are old and getting hard, they won't stop as good as the new rears might stop you. Again, the dissimilar characteristics of them can cause the behavior you're seeing.

Yes that is the correct size and are the same type/brand, had it done at a Nissan dealer. I guess from what you've described getting new front tires isn't a bad idea. Hope that will alleviate the problem ;]
