Default Proper tire pressure for 275/40 and 245/40 on 18s?

I just had a set of Falken FK451s, 245/40/18 & 275/40/18, mounted on 18X8.5 and 18x9.5 wheels and the tire shop inflated the tires to "51 psi per the tire". This seems way to high to me. What pressure should I be running?

From the load range of I'd try 35-36psi front and I'd try 31-32psi rear, and tune from there.

My 18" Nismos came with a little instruction sheet. As far as tire pressure it says:

"If the vehicle is factory installed with 18" tires, see vehicle tire placard for the recommended COLD tire air pressure"

"If replacing 17" tires, adjust the COLD tire air pressure for the new 18" tire at 35psi on the front and 35psi on the rear positions."

So - 35lbs it is for me.

Holy sh*t! What kind of inbred morons did you take your wheels to? 51 PSI is the MAX. Check and make sure they properly mounted the tires per the rotation arrows.

Thanls everyone. Factory pressures are what I thought but, I wanted to ask around. I actualy had them mounted at the Goodyear tire place just down the road. Trust me, I checked everything, especially the rotation direction of the tires. The only thing that I have left to check is that they moved the right fron TPS to the new right front wheel, etc.

Thanks again!
