Default Tire size for 18''

Ok this is my first post so please take it easy on me. I looked around and can't really find a answer. I have a 03 touring that is slammed. I'm running 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 on a 8.5 and 9.5 wheel. I wanted to slam it lower but I'm already maxed out on the front when I turn the wheel I have no gap between the tire and fender. I also want to go lower in the back also. I was wondering what tire sizes can I run without messing with the vdc. I was thinking a 255/35 and 265/35? Please someone help me and I'm sorry if there is a thread about this already and I just didnt see it. Oh I'm lowered on stance gr+ pro true coilovers if that matters.

you typically want to stay (correct me if i'm wrong on this number someone), within about 5% between ur fronts/back speed readings to keep vdc happy. having said that, you can use a tire size calculator to give you percentages, sizes, differences, etc.

one example: http://1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Sorry for bad quality pics but there the only ones I have. I'm about a inch lower now and the coilovers are settled. That was the day I put my coilovers on. thanks diablox1 for the tire size calculator I didnt even think of looking for that :P

Looking cool may give VDC a headache.

255 is 10 mm wider than 245. So you are going the wrong way here.

265 is 10 mm more narrow than 275. This gives you an extra 5 mm space on each side. This is the direction you want to go.

Thanks davidv. I was thinking the 255 would kind of compensate for the 35 series height. But I dont think it works. I looked on the calculator and it looks like the sizes i'm running now is about the only thing I can do. I'm all confused Lol. I just see guys running all kinds of crazy tire sizes on 19's. Does anyone on here run 35 series on there z or do they just stick with 40? Sorry for so many q's.

I run 255.35.18s, tho it's not recommended. The car is LOW though - no VDC probs, but the speedo is off.

Well going to the 255/35 will lower the car more, create more fender gap and of course since your going for looks only , looks retarded. 255/40 works great up front, and properly fills the wheel well arches.

Yes most people stick with stock size tire height, its a combo that works well.

I do run the 255/35/18s on all four. I use these on OEM 18x8.5" wheels (yes, I bought two more rear 18x8.5s for the front). I use this set-up to drive to/from track events and use them as my wet track tire (I bring the track wheels/tires in the car with me). It is a very short tire, but it works for my situation and my car is very low. It is not a daily driver.

Sharing your wheel widths and offsets would help us to make a tire suggestion for you.
