Default Flat tire warning but not flat

Hey guys, this morning I was driving and I got a flat tire symbol on my cluster, so I checked and the computer read I had -- psi which usually means it's way below and or seriously flat. So I pulled over and I checked and my tire was just fine. No problems at all. Does this mean my sensor got messed up? Any way to reset it or something? Has anyone had this issue? 2006 350Z here. Thanks!

TPMS sensor. They go bad sometimes. Could be a false alarm and might just need a reset.

If you turned off the car and turned it back on and drove it with no warning, then it was just a glitch. If it still happens, then probably a bad sensor. Reset may help but probably not. "Use the warranty Luke'.

Yea light stays on no matter what. Hope the reset works but if it doesn't it's time to use the warranty. This will be my first time. Wish I could reset it myself.

What is you PSi reading for all four tires in you nissan display?? If just one of my PSi reading went under 32 lbs you will get the flat tire symble. . check to see iif one of the tires read went below 32 psi. fill that tire and the senor should reset after awhile and the flat tire symble will go away.....

"--" means no signal from sensor.

Exactly yea, the tire has over 32 psi but it's reading --. The other tires are reading their psi's just fine. I'm just going to take it in for a sensor replacement or reset. Thanks guys! =-)

Default tpms

my sensor is doing the same thing.. its on my back burner for things to fix.. update this when you get yours fixed etc will you? thanks.

It magically " went bad" minutes after having a tire replaced.

"Must be a bad sensor" .. riiiiiiiight. Thank you Discount Tire.
I hope the sensors can be found cheap.

check the Marketplace->Wheels&Tires forum. Somebody always has a set cheap and occasionally you'll find singles too.

I was about 10 minutes down I-10 late one night a few weeks ago when my TPMS sensor alarm went off. One sensor was not being detected -> "--". The car was driving fine so I knew I didn't have a flat so I pulled off, turned off the ignition then restarted the car. Pulled back onto the highway and checked and all four were registering again. Just a glitch I guess.

With the car being over 6 years old, I realize that I'm going to have to replace all four as the battery life is only expected to be 7 years. When you do buy sensors, get them from an 07, 08 car so they still have a long battery life left in them.

this happened to me, i thought it was the sensor but it wasn't. i would just keep filling the tire with air till the psi light would go away, that wouldn't last more then 2 days. i figured i had a slow leak but turned out i needed new tires. 3 weeks later everything's great.

Mine has done this a couple times during the 3.5 years I've owned it. Didn't happen enough to be a problem for me. Besides, I check my tires weekly anyway

I picked up a set of 07 sensors off eBay for less than 100 shipped. Dave and others have confirmed on this board that 07-08 sensors will work just fine on 06 and under cars. I don't have an extended warranty so I went that route. For you, just use your warranty.
