Default Traction/VDC HELP!!! SLIP LIGHT!!!!!!!!

Hey 350z community I don't know if this is the right place to post but I need help. So I recently changed my rear tires from 265/35/19 to 275/30/19...Ever since the install from last night till work and back home every once in a while my SLIP light comes on. It will last for like 1 to 3 minutes then it will go away only on the freeway. Do you think its because I changed the tires? It shouldn't do that though right because I had 19's before and never had that problem. I have a Nismo 350z with stock Nismo wheels. What do you guys think it is? Anyone had this situation before ? Any help would be much appreciated. Im searching the forum as well. Thanks everyone

Wrong size tires. You made the rears shorter and now they are probably shorter than the fronts.

a 265/35/19 is right aournd 26.3, so a 275/30 is much closer to 25.5, which is super short for the rear. Def should have went 275/35/19 in the back which is like 26.5.

The 275/35 is taller than the OEM tire. OP went from a 265/35 to a 275/30 which is a shorter tire. Not your situation at all.

The only fix is to have the proper sized tires on your car.

Huh? FI and the ECU have absolutely nothing to do with the problem.

Ok thanks. I guess Ill have to deal with it. I have 265/30/19 in the rear and 245/35/19 in the front. Just wanted to know if there was a way to erase the code. The only reason I mentioned aftermaket ECU is to know if the codes can be reset with the ECU.

This isn't a "code" kinda thing. It's a "condition" that causes a temporary indicator to appear on the dash.

dont mean to steal a thread here but have a question around the same issue.

my tires are stock i have a 2004 touring

ill be going at a steady speed of 60mph and i hit the accelerator hard the car will speed up to (75) until the slip light turns on and then the car sorta shuts off and until it slows down around to 50 i gain control again.

when i turn the vdc off nothing like this happens.

what causes a problem like this?

is that how the slip should work?

sorry for the noob question

I’ve learned to never assume anything here, so when you say “my tires are stock i have a 2004 touring” you have 225/45-18” front (EDIT size) and 245/45-18” rear. Is that correct?

If the tire sizes are the stock sizes I mention above, here are possible sources for the problem you describe:
  1. Your car’s VDC is malfunctioning. This is very unlikely.
  2. Your rear tires are worn
  3. Your rear tires are under inflated.
  4. Your front tires are over inflated.
  5. A combination of inflation errors (under in the rear and over in the front)
  6. A combination of inflation errors and worn rear tires
  7. You have different brands of tires or type of tires font and rear.

you are right i guess the previous owner changed them from a base model

Front
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 23.26lbs
Tire: 225/50/17

Rear
Size: 17x8.0
Offset: +33mm
Weight: 24.14lbs
Tire: 235/50/17

^^ But those tires are the correct size (just on 17" wheels which makes no difference with VDC).

Here is what's going on: Your rear tires are slipping (albiet very slightly) enough to activate VDC. Check wear, inflation, and tire compatability to discover the problem.

You do have the correct tire sizes.
